| Stud at PokerRoom, amazing Was just watching this crazy 7 card stud game at PokerRoom. It's $500/1000 which is massive - they only go to $30/60 at Party. The first hand I see, one player pulls down a $24,000 pot with a K-high flush. For some reason it doesn't seem to make a difference her chip stack, then I realise that I misread her as having $6,250 in chips - she actually has over $6,000,000 in chips at the table. Thought this was pretty jaw-dropping. Then I realise that they mix real-money and play money ring games in the same tab. Doh. I managed to make a similar mistake a few days at PartyGammon (anyone tried that?). Except that time I thought it was play money but actually I was gambling away half my bankroll on a game I'm really not very good at. Turned out though he was worse than me... he doubled, I beavered him, then doubled back when I was slightly ahead in the race, and ended up winning $38... although I didn't realise this until I saw my bankroll was strangely higher than it was before... |
