I agree online poker is totally rigged if you have a shitty hand RAISE IT if you get some rags like AA KK fold em before you get in trouble preflop preferably its just too risky tbh

First, don't slowplay aces pre-flop. Just don't. It is begging to be outdrawn that way. Minimum raises=bad.

Second, the 2h7h will win about 1 out of 7 times. That's not exactly uber-improbable.

The preflop play by the AA and 72 guys is just horrible. I reckon some people play 72 so if they win they can say to their friends "I just won with 72". Well done

By the time the money got in, 72 had a ton of outs.

yup

I agree. Slow playing, or placing min. raise with AA pre flop is a bad idea. Although AA is an awsome starting hand, there are 48 other cards in the deck. I have experienced many, many bad beats by trying to slow play a big hand like AA pre flop. Transversely, I wouldn't even consider playing 7/2 in any combination pre flop unless, I am the BB and all I have to do is check. I know allot of people who love playing rag hands, and some of them do well with them. However, voluntarily putting chips in the pot with 7/2? Outta the question with me. That is of course unless I am playing against a bunch of fishies who are afraid to call a raise, or a sizable bet post flop.

sigh... this must be my day for making posts which I'm *sure* are going to get me flamed... having said that, here I go:

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that the REAL worth of any hand isn't how likely it is to win, but how likely it is that you can convince someone else to shove all their money in against your monster when your hand *does* hit. In other words, yes aces are powerful preflop, and more likely to win a pot, but does that necessarily make them the best moneymakers? My answer is starting to change to a resounding 'no'!

Remember that any hand can conceivably win a pot, and even 7-2 off-suit is likely to win the hand once in seven times. But the REAL value of playing 7-2 isn't in its likelihood of winning-we all know that's a long shot at best. The value is that when your 7-2 suddenly turns into a monster with trip sevens, trip ducks, or the unimaginable sevens-full-of-deuces-boat, your enemy WILL NOT SEE IT COMING.

Which is why its best to get your chips in when you are ahead particularly pre-flop. The example presented here is of a 2xbb raise slowplay early in a tournament as mentioned above. This just gives opponents a chance to catch up and in a multi way pot (not sure whether its 3+ or 4+ opponents) AA is likely to win less than 50% of the time
