Stats Post

Here is a stats post for anyone who is interested, or just to show how you can track your play...

The following stats are from 60 SNG's at the $5.50 and $6.50 (turbo) levels at PokerStars.

60 SNG's is a VERY small sample size when you consider the variance involved in these, but it is a decent enough size to show how to track results...

Finish:

1st- 12
2nd- 9
3rd- 7
4th- 6
5th- 7
6th- 10
7th- 6
8th- 1
9th- 2

I am in the money (ITM) 46.67% of the time.

My average buy-in is $6.08 (due to a mixture of $5.50 and $6.50's)

My average profit per tournament is $2.34.

My Return on Investment (ROI) is 38.51%

All of these calculations are pretty simple mathematics and if anyone would like to know how to do them, either message me or post back in this thread.

My analysis of these stats is that I am busting out too much near the middle of the tournament (5-7th place) and need to improve my $$ finishes.

I am happy with my ITM of 46.67%, but I would like to increase my 1st place finishes.

Especially at the lower levels of SNG it is easy to battle back with a short stack due to the rising blinds (turbos) and opponents lack of understanding of pot odds and failuire to protect their blinds.

I think this should be a project for everyone in the next 3 months or so - keep a log of your SnG finishes then post them here. 12/60 is not bad, statistically it should only be 6.666/60. I'm interested to see what my stats would be, but i'd definately have more than 2 last places!

Chicubs, maybe it's time for you to move up a level or 2?

I'm waiting to move up until I have 30 buy-ins at the next level so my bankroll doesn't vary too much.
