Stars WSOP Weekly Final
During the CC Stars freeroll I was looking through the tournaments and registered for a freeroll satellite, top 50 get tickets into the weekly finals, which are satellites to the Main Event. Apparently you're only allowed to enter once a week, but I won first try anyways.
Has anyone played the Weekly Final? I can't see how the prize money is allocated. The one that's running at the moment says Total prize pool $37,500, 3 entries to tournament 79797979, 1st to 3rd $2,500. I'm trying to figure out if it's even worth playing, since I don't have the patience for MTTs in general. |

If the prize pool is 37k then there will be 3 seats for the WSOP main event + accomodation/spending etc. I think they are giving away 12.5k packages (so 10k for the ME and 2.5k extra...hence the entry to tourn + 2.5k). Iirc it depends on the time of day of the final as to how many seats are offered. It is a long shot but if you get extremely lucky 12.5k isn't a bad day's work.

Plus considering that the satellite for you to get into the final is longer and had more donks in it then the final will, why wouldn't you play the final? |

LATE Friday night I noticed that the WSOP freerolls were ending. My friend was usually in bed by that time, but had been drinking a bit so he was still online. I had him play in a freeroll with me.
I got knocked out 2/3 through, but he ended up winning a ticket to the finals. The blinds go up so high that there's a ton of luck involved in winning those things. Anyway, now he's signed up for the finals, but I don't think he's playing his until Friday. That is, everyone is automatically signed up for the last one, but he unregistered from that one and entered an earlier date. There were 76 people signed up for that date when he did it, but I expect a ton of other players will sign up for it. I think there may be some strategy to picking *when* to play your final even. Some will have more than others, and some are at odd hours. |

Oh I get it; 3 prizes, each worth 12,500 but including 2,500 cash. I was thinking there's another 10,000 prize money to be distributed in the tourney somewhere.
![]() Then it's definitely not for me; 5,000 starting chips, 5 hours. Maybe I'll use the ticket one day when I'm doing something else but am going to be home all day, just do a lot of sitting out. |

Ugh. One of the most painful poker experiences of my life.
Give people who satellited in via freerolls 5,000 starting chips and a standard blind structure, and put me who has little patience for MTTS to begin with in it and you've got a minor torture test. Awful play; the person to my left had stats of 71/0 over the first hour and still had chips. I just threw mine away and got out of it. |

I've been in the weekly final. I actually really like the big stack structure, I can afford to sit back wait for big hands and get paid for them. I had tripled out to be knocked out by a big stack, flopped a set of 9's to his AQ flush draw.
