Serious answer. What are the odds of what? Someone having those exact hands? Hands => AK? Hands that win three in a row? Absolutely this is an incredible run of cards but it's not like he predicted Aces followed by QQ and KK. From the way he writes it looks like he's going all in regardless cause he's short stack, he then gets AA which is nice but not too improbable. Things get more unlikely with the next two hands but still nothing fishy. A sort of related story. I do this thing a lot where I make outlandish predictions. I'll call the next number while the lottery is being drawn. I'll call the next card from a pack, or tell people to hold the pin at golf cause I'll sink the ball from off the green. Or the phones about to ring, or the next advert on the TV is going to be the toilet tissue one. At a home game once I called two cards in a row, river and turn (just the rank not the suit). The other night Mrs Irexes was watching me play and I twice (out of two tries) called the next card to be dealt in a tourny. Now I've got a bit of a reputation for being able to call stuff like this but all it is is that people remember the times it comes off and forget those it doesn't. I've heard people retell stories and it even grows with the telling (I'm not saying that's the case here, I trust Joose), but there's plenty of times I've had guys say similar things to this and either push and bust or fold when they get crap. I've also seen people live complain that they haven't had aces in ages and then get them the next hand a couple of times. Only one person has ever spotted me doing the prediction thing (the trick is to be subtle about it and not make a scene when you miss or make a fuss yourself when you hit) and I've known him a very long time. Back to your situation, there's a desire to ascribe the improbable as impossible but in a universe of infinite possibilities and with an almost infinite number of guys talking smack at the table, this kind of thing is almost a guarentee. (Incidentally I'm sure your tongue in cheek with the r1gged, but I like to type) Doesn't make any less unusual though

ive seen stuff like this happen on a few occasions and once or twice to me but never called it or saw it coming. My sickest little rush though is when i hit about 4 sets in a span of 7 hands. Usually takes me an hour or two to hit one. Would be nice if this would happen more often, and to when its coming would be great so i can set up the table right before.

re: pokerstars is rigged (serious) poker I see a pattern here, not only on this site but other poker review sites too and it seems I see more complaints about pokerstars than any other site. Things that make you go umm, dont feel bad I had my bro watching me play and the odds just dont match what so ever not even freakin close to real life, its a business and there in the business of making that rake.

At PS once, I got AA, with it cracked on the river by a runner runner flush. Some other guy was like..."You know you can't play AA here, WHAT were you thinking?". Next hand I get AA again. This time it holds sending someone to the rail. I replied back, "I was thinking back to back". 2 hands after that I got KK.

My eye's tongue was firmly in cheek reading the whole thread, not gonna try and seperate the therata from the merely humorous. A word on the long odds thang re/ PS. I once read( my one foray into the poker conduct twilight universe) where someone had calculated the odds of whatever they was on about at 68,000,000/1. First off, I seriously doubt the veracity of their calculation; secondly, just as an estimate, how often would 68 million hands get shuffled up and dealt on PS, all games, .dom and .net? In just under 17 months, I(my account, including the wife) have sat at table for more'n a million, and currently there are 73k and change players on line there, 5 minutes ago. I'll leave it to smarter/cooler heads than mine to come up with a viable estimate, but it seems to me even 68m would cycle thru relatively often.
