Staking
I was surfing the web waiting for a tournament to start and I ran across a site that brings people that want to be staked with people who want to stake people and vise versa. The site tracks the transactions and makes sure it goes through smoothly.
Has anyone ever used a site like this? Why would someone want to stake a player they don't even know? The site has a link to another site that tracks tournament progress and pay outs, ect. So, if you wanted to stake someone, you can do research and find the best Horse to run the race. However, the site just monitors the transaction, If the Horse wins and decides not the pay the Staker after the tournament is over, the Staker gets screwed. All the site does is ban the user after an investigation. So this brings me back to the question of why would you steak someone you didn't know? To the sites credit, they do have a points system that tracks the history of its members. The Staker can limit the risk based on the player's talent history and his transaction history. But again, the Staker assumes all the risk. Has anyone used a site like this? Interested in hearing your thoughts on staking in general. |

I have been using the site you speak of for the last month. I am the one being staked. Because I am new to the site, I am only being staked at the micro level, until I can prove myself and am reliable.
Because my bankroll will not allow me to play in the bigger online tournaments, I am trying to build my reputation on this site so that I will be staked into these bigger buy-in tournaments. |

Your bankroll won't let you get into better game faster with a staker talking half or more of what you earn.
Total Waste of time using stakers, IMO. So what if you start small, you sure can work up a nice br with a bit of effort and best part....it's all yours. |
