Stacks of cash on big poker tourney on TV...

Okay, I don't watch a lot of this. But I've noticed a few of the players have these big bricks of paper dollars next to their chip stack. Why?? Or are they not tournaments at all?

I guess you mean highstakes poker, which is a cash game. Those are $10k bundles. I like HSP better than most of the tournament shows.

Yeah, in most cash games you can play any money you have on the table. Just for kicks I brought several sleeves of $1 bills ($50 ea) to a $1/$2 NL game at Foxwoods.

The reaction I got was priceless

Now that would be priceless. Or even funnier how about bringing rolls of change to the table?

They also have cash bundles alongside chips on the Poker After Dark series which is tournament, not cash game.

well in cash games the chips they use are casino chips so they are as good as money.
for poker after dark i'm not sure what kind of chips they use???
and on high stakes poker where kaplan sat down to play in negreanu's seat he got bundles of ones to equal 1000 dollars so it looked like he had a lot of money. and at first the players saw him give the waitress the thousand dollar chip and start to take bundles of cash. they thought it was 50k bundles but it was only 500 dollar bundles lol.
