| Some interesting reading material..few articles about internet gambling and such.. http://www.slate.com/id/2112213/ Hold 'Em, Fold 'Em, Cheat 'Em Tricks, scams, and crimes for winning at online poker. No it isn't how to cheat, explains about collusion, bots, cutting the cord, and software cheats. I found the software cheats to be the funniest cause the author explained how he payed for one and it is useless. Just a way to get money from you. The other part that got me which makes for the thought of cheats, et-cetra but this happened 7 years ago. In 1999, for example, a flawed shuffling algorithm at(have to leave the pokerwebsite out)leaked out, allowing players who'd studied it to win at will. http://online.wsj.com/public/article/SB11437500076201263114PeRy_IGy_Ax75SChM_gejdynE_20 070403.html?mod=tff_main_tff_top Should Online Gambling Be Banned? Email response back and forth Between Rep Leach and now arrested Carruthers. Yes granted it is an old article but one has to wonder about Rep Leach and his thoughts. http://www.slate.com/id/2146538/?GT1=8391 This is how I came across all this.. Don't Bet on It The silly war on Internet gambling. I like the last sentence in this article. Like other forms of gambling, wagering on the Internet isn't illegal because it's bad. It's bad because we've chosen to make it illegal. My thoughts on all this.. Some people will try any and all possible ways to cheat at anything. That is just the nature of the beast. No matter what we do as honest people, there is always going to be cheats trying to gain $$$. Leach better have an open mind, I can see his point but when you are only looking at the picture frame instead of the whole picture. His point of view is only ruining the picture itself. Now gambling is gambling.. some of us like to wager alot of money while others like to wager smaller amounts. It isn't wrong to dream of turning say $1.00 into say 100,000. Yet if it is done responsibly which I am sure the majority of people do this. Yes occasionally someone mortgages the house, uses rent, thier car payment to gamble with. Should the ones who are responsible be pointed at cause of a few people who go overboard? No They should take responsibility for thier own actions, instead of the people pointing fingers at things we gamble on and blaming that. Any more thoughts are welcome |
