software?

Is there a software that gives info on other players? I was playing in a SNG today when another guy was talking alot of trash but somethings that he said stood out. He knew how much another player had in his account. He also said that I was in the bottom 15% of players on Pokerstars, ouch that hurt to hear, please tell me that's not true. What software would he have and is it legal? I saved the hand histories to a Word Doc just in case I have to report it to Stars.

I have never played this person before to the best of my knowledge and when I went to add him to my search list, he was blocked. I am down about $150 in about 10-months time after playing about 14+ hours per week at numerous levels and games. A good chunk of my losses would come from the rake. Please tell me he was making that bottom 15% stuff up. When I asked him later in the tourny (I stayed to watch) where he got his stats from, he replied " wouldn't you like to know fish", he then added "people like you are good for my bankroll". I got bounced from this SNG with basically 2-hands. The 1st I raised up with K/Q and the flop came down K/Q/? all suited so I tried to ceck it down but called a small bet on the turn when a blank hit and folded on the river to a bet when it came up 4-suited. My last hand I called a 3X ($300) raise by the button with me in the BB with 10/10 looking to bet out on the flop. The flop was 5/2/2 and I pushed $900 and he called and showed 7/2os, with no 10 on the turn or river I was out. In hindsight, I should have pushed pre-flop but that isn't the question here. He then said "what a surprise, dinos lost". The whole tourny seemed hokey, too many catches, almost like they knew what was coming.

I think you can get player rankings at TournamentReporter.com or the like. As far as account balance, not sure. The rest sounds like luck combined with a psych job.

Turn off his chat if it bothers you. Don't let him psych you out. When players try to needle me, I type "Bubye...muted". That gets to them more than any reply from me would. Just mute him, study his play, and try to capitalize. Be confident.

The chat didn't bother me because it was my last hand anyway, it just got me thinking...

Dont get too paranoid about the hand, he called trying to catch something and he did. (a pain I know). No hidden tricks, he is just playing his game.

Most of the software you can get will mainly tell you someones ITM/ROI for SNGs.

The screen will usually show the ITM% above everyone's name. If you want to play a lot of SNGs it can be useful. Look at something like PokerProphecy if you are considering it.

So, yes he probably does know your stats, but that doesnt mean he's going to beat you. Dont worry too much about a negative ROI. As much as players often like to think they are making loads of money the reality is about 85% of online players have negative ROIs.

Keep accurate records and you'll find your %s will improve, even if its just from the shear determination of wanting better stats!
