Skin Question

Merge, Yatahay, bodog, etc, etc.....

Does anyone know for sure whether or not the player count I see, or you see, when you or I log in to a skin on a network, is the number of players playing via that skin, or is that number the total on the network?

My concept of a skin has always been like a theater in the round, with multiple entries, each controlled by a different mob...er ah skin. In one case the guy at the door has a counter and clicks entries and exits, in the other case the floor manager would be keeping the count. Not sure this actually means anything, but have been interested in finding this out for years......Just never bothered to ask the question.

True for Merge I know, but I can't speak for the other networks.
