Usually that means it's private section or one that you need a certain amount of posts. That never happened to me and I do not know of any sections like that here, besides Loyalers Section which is invisible to use any way, so I don't know what to tell you.

That's odd. What and where are you trying to post? Rather than get upset about it, don't you think a more diplomatic approach would help solve the problem? No need for an attitude. We're happy to help you out anyway we can.

It should take you right back to the thread and your post. It always does for me unless the site is extremely busy(see above).

SirTristen, are you sure you're signed in when you are trying to post? I have things set to always sign me in when I access the site...now. But when I first joined, I would find that it wouldn't let me post, because I forgot to sign in.

Juicee, there is a bit of a glitch this weekend that may be hurting the newbies. It's happened to me a couple of times. I'm logged in, and I'm posting a reply, but when I try to submit it, I'm told that I'm not signed in and I'm asked to log in again. When I do so, the next screen I see is telling me that I have to wait 30 seconds between posts. So, my original reply IS being posted. I just have to re-enter for no apparent reason.

I can't help but notice that the offended party poker is a new member with two posts. I wouldn't get too upset at the bad manners of another Sunday freeroll whore looking for a game. Our woods are full of them now.

I'm not sure i've had the priveleges problem here, but i have had it on other sites.....it has something to do with not being logged in, if you have the problem again, try logging out and back in that SHOULD fix your problem.

Technology isn't always what it's cracked up to be....take last weeks(or maybe the week before)freeroll debacle for example.....

RJ, that is an oddity for sure. I haven't had that issue at all yet (knock on wood). When did it start happening to you? Also, when you sign in, do you click on the "remember me" checkbox before signing in? I used to have a similar issue when I didn't check that box (though in my case the post was lost), but that was quite a while ago.

Awwww. That's a bit harsh. I originally joined just for the freerolls, but I found that this is a really fun place to hang out. I imagine a lot of others will feel the same. And I can understand his frustration because before they...did whatever they did to fix the site a week or so ago...it kept kicking me out saying the server was too busy.

I guess I'm just saying that while I know a LOT of people are only joining for the freerolls, a lot of those people will also discover what a GREAT place this actually is. I know I did.

I have had problems with trying to make posts, or reply to threads.......having it tell me to log in, when I was. Sometimes it just takes shutting the page down, and coming back and doing it again. Just be patient, Sir.

Yesterday, I think. And yes, I usually check "remember me" when I log on. No biggie. It just takes a little time away from enjoying the site.

This is something Nick is going to have to look into from the server side then. And it only seems to be a recent intermittent problem affecting some people. While it does need to be fixed (so it's good it was brought to our attention), at least it isn't stopping anyone from getting the passwords for today's games.

You are right, Cat. That`s what the freerolls are for - to bring in new members - and they certainly work. Too well, sometimes.

You must excuse us oldies if we sometimes get grumpy about the sheer number of clamouring noobs. Sometimes it`s like being the only adult in the nursery, but we know that some of the crowd will grow to be good members in time.

Almost all of you oldies had only one post at one time or another and look at you now! If it weren't for noobs, who would be the first to be put out?

The only time I've had a problem was last night and I think it was because I started a reply, had some "wife chore" delays (let the dog out, check the pizza in the oven, take out the trash etc.) and I got timed out. I got a message telling me to log in and no problem with that. The only problem I did have was when I tried to cut/copy my final message text so I could just carry it over after logging back in and it wouldn't let me so I had to reconstruct my post...no big deal. BTW, I too am immensly enjoying this site. The freerolls are a nice bonus for members but the rewards are inherent in what this site is REALLY all about, imho.

You shouldnt have to log on each time if you have that box ticked - thats the point of it.

Or do you log out at the end of a session?

If you want to know what happens to a successful forum that becomes elitist check out The World Poker Tour Fan site - The Unofficial World Poker Tour Fan Site. That site used to be the best site on the net...then the veterans started flaming every noob who posted and now there might be 5 people who post there regularly.

If you think me elitist, I have expressed myself poorly.

That wasn`t my point at all. Actually, I spend half an hour or more most days greeting new members in the introduction area of CC. I definitely have no problem with new members.

I should have specified more clearly that the older members are impatient with those who come here solely for the freerolls and fail to note that there is a very active and friendly community here.

Pretty much the response I would expect from an elitist in denial. <3 Egon

Send your payments to...juiceeQ, care of Cardschat... I'm kidding! I'm kidding! Nah, SirTristen, you won't find a better poker community anywhere on the net. And trust me when I say, we have loads of freerolls with no strings attached.

Hey, I came here initially for the freerolls too, and look at me now! There's no shame in coming here for the freerolls; that's why we have them, to attract new members.

Anyway, glad to see everything is working out for you, and if you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask.

As usual, a comment is made, taken completely out of context, and everybody feels the need to weigh in with their two cents on a topic they don't even understand. My observation was not directed toward new members in general, but specifically to the originator of the thread who came in like a bull in a china shop under the topic heading "THIS SITE IS REDICULOUS(sic)". There is a difference between new members, many of whom will vouch for my private messages of welcome and/or assistance, and ill-mannered boors who only show up for freerolls while throwing rocks at our forum before, during, and after each event. I have no apologies for the manner in which I characterized those particular individuals.

SirTristen has extended the olive branch, sort of, with a couple of smilies and some kind words, and I'm willing to write it off as a poor first impression. No elitism here, friends. Just calling them like I see them. Come one, come all...just keep a civil tongue in your head. That's my motto.

Besides, if I were truly elitist, I would point out that the three quotes above come from members with a combined total of less than 200 posts between them. Not that I would ever stoop to that sort of thing, of course.
