How do you make your money? Playing small sit and go's (9 or 18 man) or playing big tournaments?

Personally, it's single-table SnGs.

Your question ignores ring games though.

i play 6-max sng. i have been doing a lot better at sng then in cash games. i was a losing player in cash games but can seem to be a break even player in sng's. i have not really tried tourny's that much, they take up to much time for me to be in a lot.

i like to play singl tables sngs, the multitable ones take too long and its harder to get in the money

Usually the smaller tournies take a lot more work to get to the top..But if you have talent, then its good to join the 18 player because by the final table..you will have known how most of the players play their respective cards. Also, the pay out is a little better..But for a beginner at SNG, you should stick to the 9 player in order to cash more often..They require more effort but everyone has different opinions..Good Luck at SNG

9 man sngs would be best. Tournaments with lots of players can have big rewards, but you won't consistently be making money. There will be huge swings and long periods of not cashing and even longer periods of not cashing big in the final three. Sngs are great to build a bankroll or even make steady money. I do love tournaments though and I play them for fun. But to make money i would definitely chose sngs.

No. In school today, I was doing calculations for matrix payouts. If you are a tight player with a lot of time on hand, matrix is bad since your opponents are committing time without giving up.

Your advantage is wrecked if you play tight.
Let the donkeys mess up in the normal sngs.

i want to see these calcs? Ive played a few and profited of every one although its really insignificant sample. How can it be unprofitable?
