Sit-and-Go Poker Senerio:

Sit-and-Go Poker Senerio:

You have 5,987 chips left and your at a $530.00 sit-and-go (10 seater)
4 are left, 3 get paid

Stacks are :
Player one: 6,900
Player Two: 4,902
Player Three: 2283
player four: (U) 5,987

Hand is dealt your last to act

Player 1 goes all-in pre flop
player 2 calls (hes all-in now)
Player 3 calls (hes all in now)

You have pocket k's

Do you:
A: go all-in risking the game remeber only 3 places get paid.
B: Let the three players battle it out and hope one/both die that way at least you'll get paid.
C: Other (Give Details)

(Above is all occering PRE-FLOP)

Player Note's are:

*Player one is a tight player
*Player two is loose/aggressive
*Player three is a fish/bannana and has bluffed throughout the game and won hand after hand by fluke

I look forward to reading your answers

Regards,

My reasoning below in light blue (Just "select" it to read it):

On MOST sites, in the event of multiple players going out on the same hand, their "final placement" is based on the number of chips they had PRIOR to the hand.....so if player 1 wins you win 2nd

If you win, your are big stack against 913 for player 1

If you have "second best" to player2 or player3 you are guarenteed at LEAST 3rd spot...with hands yet to play

THE ABSOLUTE worst possible case would be players 1-3 ALL have Ax and the board "hits trip something no one has Ace high"....I think this is the ONLY way you can place fourth.

give us a stack of like 2.5k (let us know what the blinds are too) and this becomes interesting.

as it is it's a trivially easy call because all kinds of horribly unlikely things need to happen here for us to not even cash.

I reply before reading your reasoning.
This seems to be a new thinking process which I as well have struggled with. It only occurs in tourney play, whether sng or MTT.

Lay it for pay, or Play it for glory? Lets call it the LIPPIG conundrum.

I think in this situation, you should push. Because of your stack you would get paid regardless. In a case like this finish is determined by stack size before the deal.

You more than likely have the huge edge here.

If the big stack wins it with you in the pot, u get second place $$$. If any stack other than short stack wins it, short stack goes out. If mid stack wins it, he becomes big stack, u become mid stack, and there is the new short stack.

Only one scenario is not good, and that is when the pot is won by a pair of queens or lower. At which point you go on tilt, kicking yourself till you donk away your chips and end up out of the $$$.

IMHO

I would fold..the reason?...i immediatly know that if i fold..that i will be in the money. Wrong i know after seeing the first post answer but usually at that time im usually trying to just stay in the money. Honest answer from a man who has seen himself go out many many times just above the money. And i know for a fact that if i played that hand..they would all win apart from me...Not rigged..just the fate of a poor wee online poker player.

why would you ever reply in light blue? I cant even read it.

How about if the short stack folds, the other 2 go all in and if you go all in and lose, then the short stack gets 3rd by default. I would fold because i play for 3rd then i play for first. Maybe im wrong but i come in the money alot more that way.

he does that so his opinion can not sway someone else's decision.

Calling three all-ins at a four-man table that pays three is INSANE. Regardless of what you're holding. I would not only fold KK in that situation, I would fold AA. I would fold ANYTHING in that situation, in that position. You can only win a tournament if you don't get knocked out. Someone (or two) is going home there, for certain. Don't make it three.

What makes this poll query so ironic is that I just entered CardsChat after finishing a $5 MTT at Full Tilt. I had a very similar decision to make. Six remaining at the final table, paying four. I was fifth in chips and in the BB. First and second to act fold. Third chair goes all in and fourth chair calls. SB folds. I fold QQ. Fourth chair's eights pick up a set on the flop, beating third chair's Jacks. I'm still around because surviving overrode the pocket Queens. I end up finishing SECOND. Otherwise, I'm out of the money.

Always choose survival. Always.

Didn't want to taint the poll answers with mine (and BTW I would ALSO do option 3 )

(Like printing the answer upside down....if you WANT to peek its right there...if you DON'T want to peek...it WONT be obvious what I wrote....

the trick to reading it is to click and and hold down the button and drag towards the bottom...

the text turns dark blue on white and looks something like this:

I would call here. There is a high probability that you will make it in the money if you do because two of the players that are all in you have outchiped. If Player 1 wins, you will get 2nd place. If Player 2 wins, player three is out and you're still in, therefore you made the money. The only way you'll lose if you're three opponents have Ax and the last Ace is on the board giving them a three way spilt pot and you lose leaving you the bubble boy. That chances of that happening are microscopic. Call!

RJ,

Let's take a look at the scenario here.

We have KK, second best hand in holdem, blah blah blah.

- If we win the pot, we've effectively won the SNG

- If Player 1 wins the pot, Players 2 and 3 go busto and as they have fewer chips than us, we get 2nd.

- If Player 2 wins the pot, Player 3 goes busto and we're ITM.

- If Player 3 wins the pot and either Player 1 or ourselves win the side pot, player 2 goes busto and we're ITM (whether we're still alive in the tourney or not).

- If Player 3 wins the pot, Player 2 wins the first side pot and we win the second side pot, we have ~2k chips and are still alive, and Player 1 is crippled and down to 1k (would be nice to know the blinds to know how good/bad this is).

- If Player 3 wins the pot, Player 2 wins the first side pot, and Player 1 wins the second side pot, we're busto in 4th.

Really, considering what it takes for us to go busto, coupled with the great hand we have, how can we not call here?
