Sick of Hold'em - How about Omaha?

Just a little tired of playing hold'em and thought I'd give Omaha a try. I've been enjoying the 6 max cash games and they've been profitable (I'm honestly not that great, but these players just downright blow @ 10PLO.)

Just downloaded Omaha Tracker for the trial and seems to be working well.

Anyone a decent player or able to point me in the direction of some resources? Books, websites, programs, etc...?

Lik

Sick of holdem how about Omaha

Likminutz,

I am not a great holdem player but not bad either. However, Omaha is a different game as you know. When most players have so many more options in a hand it tends to confuse them. That is why, in my opinion, there are not as many good Omaha playes as there are holdem players. As i heard one of the true professionals say one time, "Omaha is all about the drawing possibilities". If you do not flop a made hand then get out unless your drawing possibilities on 4th street to a nut hand are almost countless.

Just picked up "Farha on Omaha" but haven't had a chance to read it yet. Heard it is "the" book on Omaha.

nl omaha?

i needed some fpps on pokerstars last aug 31 and was going to the omaha limit .5/1 table and noticed .1/.25 nl omaha h/l where they were averaging 8 + dollar pots...so i sat with 5 dollars and watched a guy go all in pre flop over and over ...and rebuy for 25 if he lost ....i got my 30 points quick lost 1.75 and left when he left..after the guy on his right pulled in a 147 dollar pot.
right place right time i guess ..

When you buy in for a small amount, never sit down at a table that averages a pot bigger than your entire stack, or anymore than 50% of it.

i play a lot of omaha and that game is shit house. high is easy if you dont have the best hand the other guy will. if its 8s or better then you better have an a2kand any card that flushes you. pairs suck if you hit trips they are only good for the flop on the turn if your not full hope to get lucky on the river cause your probly bust. heres the real deal. if you have 10 players at the table 36 of your outs are gone. add in the 3 burn cards. you basicly have 17 cards to make the best hand with and you only get the 9 they gave you. and only to of yours will play and 2 have to play so you can subtract for that. and find that its harder than holdem to bluff. its harder to get the nuts and keep them to the end. and it is much harder to keep a stack of chips due to the limits. limits make it easy and reasonable to chase. (POT ODDS) good luck i learned to play by watching the wsop events and learned more than any book. chad norman knows whats what. may be a goof but he knows.
