Should I play?

I've been on poker hiatus for the last month, studying poke books and reading here. I just deposited $100 on Cake and have been observing the micro tables, so soft. I've been drinking and watching TVO of Las Vegas (stupid show but I like some parts of it, another discussion) now I feel like playing.

Drinking does one good thing for me, it makes me less anxious. See I don't care if it's $0.40 or $40, I want to win, so money is my biggest weakness. I hate losing it (like everyone else here) I get all twisted up over a 3X BB bet with middle pair and TK. So drinking loosens me up a little but as long as I'm not drunk I play a better game aggressive wise and less sheepish. On the other hand those things can work against me if I'm not thinking 100% clearly.

So, should I play these weak tables?

Yes. I believe there is a level of drunkness that aids ability and makes you to be able to make better calls. It's like when I've had 4 pints and I drive, yes I'm over the limit but I'm insanely relaxed about high risk manouveres. like J turning out of the parking lot.

Yes, sober I always agonize over every single decision, little tipsy I play looser and frequently more profitable. Unfortunately I reach the point of diminishing returns much faster. Still I will not play when drinking, this is my new mantra.

That's all we need in the end lol. As long as I don't look at my BR before and after I come away feeling pretty pleased with myself for pulling some sick bluffs that I wouldn't otherwise have had the confidence to pull off. 9-max with a PFR of 90 and an infinite AF ftw.

I also like playing with a buzz on. If I make a play that is remotely good and it payes off, I feel like a fu**in' champ

Ah, I slowed down, just can't drink enough beer to get blitzed, get too full or hungry eat and too full to drink. Still I have decided to not play while drinking, the benefit of lowering my inhibitions is outweighed by my need to stay focused and clearheaded.

Gotta do what feels right I guess.
