Should I call????? Curty

I am by no means a teacher of this game Id love to hate, but there is a few things Id like to SHARE!

First is how to calculate the cards and thier numerical value:

A = 14 pts
K = 13 pts
Q = 12 pts
J = 11 pts
10 = 10
9 = 9
8 = 8
ect.

NOW, to open in early position you need at least:
total 24-26 pts
to call,bet or raise in MIDDLE position:
total 21-24 pts
now to raise on button or "SB" you need:
24-26 pts

PLEASE NOTE:
This is a Guidline not LAW, as in anything in poker:
PLEASE USE WITH CAUTION, but coming from the PROS, this is a great outline as to "WHEN" to bet.

Nice first post. A little too tight for button play, also there should be no calling ever with 24+ range anyways. You should always be raising preflop.

Yeh a decent first post, but i disagree with the button range. Mine is way lower

All Have different opinions as to opening hands....but this is the "theroy" that I have chosen....

Not sure about this theory...doesn't take account a PP or suited connectors.

To me this theory looks like it came off the back of a very cheap set of paper playing cards. The ones that are marked the first time a hand is dealt.

Might be a good strategy for somebody whos about to enter tournament in a casino and youve only got 10 mins to teach them as theyve never played before. With a run of great cards they could even do some damage.

Are you telling me you sit in front of the computer and play according to these rules, and win?

If thats the case, heck i'll try it. Which games do you play with the theory?

I was handed a tiny piece of paper with something like this the first time i played a tournament down the pub.

Lets face it I know very little. But a little more everyday.

OP,this theory looks eerily similar to the Hutchison Point system, though the calling and raising ranges seem skewed from the original. also your system does not take suited-ness and flushed-ness (lol, at my word not you)
I think the Hutchison system is a good starting point for beginners, but as you say it is a guide and not the law...

As stated above,I highly disagree with the button play.
I think it is way to tight,and there is alot of "gray area"in this theory.
There is certainly other situations to consider....
Just MHO...
