Shootout vs KnockOut

Hi, maybe this is a rookie question, but can some one please explin me the diference between a ShootOut and a KnockOut tournment??

KO is a bounty tourny. A shootout is when you play at the same table until one guy has all the chips then you go to the next table and do the same thing.
