September Goals Thread I did a search and Im pretty sure no one has started one yet, so Ill get it going. If someone else already created one, I appologize and this one can be deleted. Here are mine: 1.) Play poker a little less and focus on schoolwork a little more. School is starting in a few days for me again and I dont want to be spending 2-3 hours a day playing like I did last semester. 2.) Between myself and my roommate playing on my account at Pokerstars I hope to make 60-100 dollars playing 5.50 S&Gs to put my BR at 150-200. If I cant play enough to do that, I will be fine though. 3.) Play golf on the school course atleast 4 or 5 times 4.) Maintain a 3.3 GPA overall

1. Only play poker when in "A" game mood. This includes not sitting down for a huge tourny at 10 O'clock at night when I got work next day. And not going for "just one more Sit n Go" before bed when I'm actually knackered. 2. Throw away AQ and KQ more often in early position pre-flop, and when the calls and raises are going in when I'm in late to middle position pre-flop. 3. Stop rambling on and using too many words to put my ideas across in the posts at Cardschat because it's got to stop and is totally unacceptable to people who just want a quick read and need to move on. It's also inconsiderate, vacuous and wastes peoples' time and makes me look like a wind-bag who has got nothing else better to do.

I haven't posted in the last few, but this month I actually have a goal. Get comfortable playing at FT, gradually increase my playing time/playing levels and work off as much of the deposit bonus as I can. Since I just started, I have no idea how long finishing it should take me so the goal is a little vague yet.

re: September Goals Thread poker to not deposit 250 again turn it into 500 overnight playing severly out of my BR and then lose it the next day on tilt. so basically to depositi 250 and play only 10 max and 10 + 1 tourneys and below. work it up to 500 and then play 25 max and when up to 750 24+2 tourneys prolly wont happen though cause i will deposit and then as always go to 100 max and will get it up to 500 then loose it the next day (im kinda using this to blow off steam sorry)

These were my August Goals: 1. not have to make another deposit on Full Tilt (check) 2. get my bankroll up to at least 200, and keep it there. (check) 3. learn more of the math part of poker and incorporate it into my game (check-ish) 4. get better at pushing out trash hands that people love to outdraw me with. (been doing much better with this.) 5. have fun (check check) so my August goals were (for the most part) completed and im proud of that. so now for my September goals: 1. Win a MTT 2. Read Harrington's 1st and 2nd book. 3. Finish Zen and the Art of Poker 4. FT 3 more MTTs 5. Get my bankroll up to 500 and keep it there.

Poker goals: - Finish reading Harrington Vol II and Caro's Book of Tells - Get my online bankroll up to $10 (it's at $3.38 right now) - Make a final table at my Monday night live game - Improve my pitching, it's been getting a bit sloppy lately But most importantly, and probably in confilct with the above goals: - Spend more time with my girlfriend If I make that one at the expense of any of the first four, I'll be happy

Mid-point update: 1. I've read: 'Killer Poker Online' (1 and 2), 'Psychology of Poker', 'The Badass Girl's Guide to Poker' (seriously, though I'm not sure I'd recommend it except as a novelty -- ymmv) 2. Reading through all 3 Harrington's now. And working the workbook. 3. Asked for help. That was a biggie and I can't believe how motivated to improve I've become. Still have discipline issues because I'm a hard-headed bad-word so I'm still my biggest nemesis. Going to use #4 to try to change that. So... 4. For the rest of September I'm only going to play CC games. And probably extend that through next month as well. Got to kill my inner action-junkie. Die inner action-junkie! Die!

Got the 1/2 million part taken care of. Researching at FT I only find a 500K playmoney buyin that has a $40.00 prize pool. This may be what I was misthinking about, but doubtful it will be something I will enter. I like the 10K PM tables, and rather than blowing my wad on that 500K tourney, I would rather work on getting 1 million PM, then when that rises to 20 mil, I could think about the 500K.
