Self Exclusion

Hi All,

Brand new to this forum, came hoping to get a bit of help for my partner who has a poker problem.

I have searched the web and got a lot of information.

BUT I need help with Self Exclusion. Do we have to do self exclusion for every place he visits online, or is there a way we can self exclude from all – if so does this cost money or is it Free?

He is a member of a few British and American poker sites, will this make a difference with exclusion?

I honestly don’t know where to start when it comes to this!

I've never done it, but he'd have to self exclude on each site individually.

It would have to be done at each site - and not all sites offer it.

If it's really that bad, delete all the poker software from your PC and purchase (there may be free alternatives) some software to prevent access to gambling websites. If his addiction is such that you're having to seek out ways to exclude him, he'll just be too tempted to open another account somewhere that you haven't excluded.

self exclusions last up to 180 days
if he has a really bad problem, what u should do is email the pokersites and tell them of the problem, they would delete his accounts and new accounts wont be allowed to register from the same IP

they may not offer it, but should you e-mail them from his account's registered e-mail address and request it they pretty much have to ban him or risk a hefty lawsuit somewhere down the line.

You don`t want to be doing any of that self exclusion. It`ll make you go blind.

Thanks for the info guys, he has asked for my help with his gambling (taken 3 years to admit he has a problem) so I am not doing the exclusion behind his back. I think we will write and email each company and the casinos he goes to, thats probably our best bet.

Any idea how much GamBlock (or any other equivalent software) costs to install.

Its not a perfict fix coz its not hard to change the settings,but if he has a Virus protection like Trend Micro Internet Security u can go to settings and make he´s computer block all gambleing sites.
