The simplest way I've found is using the "Print Screen" button. Unless you actually want
to print the screen contents, be sure your printer is turned off. The image will be saved to the "clipboard." Go to your Programs Menu. In the Accessories/Systems Tools section you'l find "Clipboard Viewer." Click it and you'll see the image. Save it as a .jpg file. When it's in .jpg format you can paste it into just about any program and/or manipulate it in image programs. The simplest way I've found is using the "Print Screen" button. I use a little piece of software called ScreenHunter to do screen captures:
http://www.wisdom-soft.com/products/screenhunter.htm You can set it to either save the captured file to a specific location on your hard drive, or keep the data on the clipboard. I do the latter, then paste it into my graphics application and save it myself with an appropriate file name. |
