Running Hot, stupid push and Beating a World Champion
OK. Firstly I am sorry for the boasting ( well not really ). Secondly I do not suggest that anyone else pulls this type of move.
Thirdly - How often do you get the chance to beat a world champion? Can you do it in Golf - No. Tennis - No....Poker - its possible. I Just done it. Background: I have been running hot recently. very Hot. Here is an example of the type of thing that has been happening http://www.cardschat.com/f46/when-falls-into-place-94978/ Anyway in the last week, and before this hand, my Bankroll has gone up circa $5K. Things were looking good. I made $1500 this morning playing 2/4, 3/6 and was about to log off when I saw Joe Hachem Playing at the 25/50 tables at Poker stars. Now I know that this is well above my limit, I know I should not play, However I lose discipline and decided that hey - why not buy in short stack and see a round or two with the ex world champ. Anyhow thats what I did and this is what happened. PokerStars Game #12447576578: Hold'em No Limit ($25/$50) - 2007/10/05 - 07:46:13 (ET) Table 'Laodamia II' 9-max Seat #3 is the button Seat 1: DanielFerg ($3210 in chips) Seat 2: The Liar ($7810 in chips) Seat 3: p3achy_keen ($5000 in chips) Seat 4: Telefonkiosk ($5591 in chips) Seat 5: Empire2000 ($5000 in chips) Seat 6: JoeHachem ($7553.85 in chips) Seat 7: yojje ($6069 in chips) Seat 8: alexandern ($1119 in chips) Seat 9: pfkp ($950 in chips) Telefonkiosk: posts small blind $25 Empire2000: posts big blind $50 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to pfkp [Th Ah] JoeHachem: raises $100 to $150 yojje: folds alexandern: folds pfkp: raises $800 to $950 and is all-in DanielFerg: folds The Liar: folds p3achy_keen: folds Telefonkiosk: folds Empire2000: folds JoeHachem: calls $800 *** FLOP *** [8c 9s 2d] *** TURN *** [8c 9s 2d] 2♠ *** RIVER *** [8c 9s 2d 2s] 4♥ *** SHOW DOWN *** JoeHachem: shows [6s 3s] (a pair of Deuces) pfkp: shows [Th Ah] (a pair of Deuces - Ace kicker) pfkp collected $1972 from pot *** SUMMARY *** Total pot $1975 | Rake $3 Board [8c 9s 2d 2s 4h] Seat 1: DanielFerg folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 2: The Liar folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 3: p3achy_keen (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 4: Telefonkiosk (small blind) folded before Flop Seat 5: Empire2000 (big blind) folded before Flop Seat 6: JoeHachem showed [6s 3s] and lost with a pair of Deuces Seat 7: yojje folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 8: alexandern folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 9: pfkp showed [Th Ah] and won ($1972) with a pair of Deuces Ok, a) It was a crap push. b) So I got lucky. c) Theres nothing clever about playing above your bankroll and making rubbish short stack pushes........ BUT d) I beat a world champ !!!!! Now, I am going to run. I fear that my "God Mode" button is about to be Turned off. time to cash out the winnings and store in the bank !!!! No more poker over the weekend and then back to sensible levels next week. ![]() |

For who I like to call Joe HACKEM, to make that call with those rags, was just another cocky jerk we like to call a pro, trying to teach you a lesson. His thinking was the nerve of this nobody going over the top of me. Showing off his bankroll and trying to teach the other opponents at the table that he's not scared to race with rags. The $800.00 call was nothing to him now, but when he's broke like most of the people we call pros, cause they won a big tourney, and now begging for backers, these type of plays will haunt him. Mike M. and a couple of other alleged pros making a fool of themself's online also. Their so damn good but seem to be the ones getting popped for cheating online. [PS WCOOP]

)They say that you should take advantage when you your hot - and thats what I did here. Obviously not a play I would do normally, however Its something I sometimes do with my winnings. |
