So I really have no friends that are better than me at poker to ask this. So i turn to this site.
I have really been running bad of recent. Or have I? that is my question. Am i running bad or is there a serious leak in my game that I am not noticing. I keep getting busted as a 65-35+ favorite preflop
I want to say 6 out of my last 8 sessions I have left the casino with a "i cant believe that happened" attitude. If I am donking I want to know. I cant remember all the hands but I remember a few
I will start with most recent. I am playing the 1/2 NL game and i bought in for $100. Im up to ~$150. I am dealt QQ UTG. I bump it up to $10. I get one caller who is playing a few hands with me. It gets to the BB and the BB raises to $24. The BB is a very aggressive player with a fairly wide range. Clearly at this point i put his range as AK+/ KK+ since i raised UTG and am fairly tight. I call the raise after contemplating folding.
Board comes 3 rags rainbow 8 high board. He leads out $35. At this point I took about 2 and a half minutes to call. I was thinking if he is C-betting with AK or if he knows I have an overpair and hes betting with AA. Anyways, I make the call and the other guy folds. Turn comes K. he goes all in. I automatically fold. he showed me AA.
Later that night against I pick up A9 in early position. I limp in and sb bumps it to $7. the aggressive guy to my right from the AAvQQ hand calls and i call as well. Board comes 9 5 2. sb c-bets $8, and BB (who i know is making a play because he really hates the SB player) raises to $28. I reraise all in for $65. SB folds and BB calls with 9-10. Turn comes a 10, and i miss the Ace and my flush draw on the river. lost buy in
long story's short heres from another session 1-3nl. I call a reraise all in for $60 against LAG with JJ he flips over A10 and hits his A on flop.
I have Pocket AA bump it to $10 get 6 callers. lead out $30 and get an all in raise for $4 more. I call he shows KJ for top 2 pair.
A10 raise get 1 caller. Board comes A- rag-rag. Turn comes rag. River comes 7. i bet on all streets and he has A7. very next hand I have A10 again. 4 limpers and one guy pops it to $20. I reraise all in. He calls $45 more with KJ. hits J on river.
I am trying to make this post not boring and extremely long (probably failed) but I have been busted out of my buy in 6/8 games now and everytime ive gone all in ive been atleast a 60-40 favorite, but most of the time 70-30+ favorite. my question is this. In cash games, is it stupid to go all in over and over again preflop as a 65-35+ favorite knowing that during that session, eventually the 35 is going to bust you? or do you keep making the "correct" move. i dont know where im going with this post (and i apologize) just looking for some advice
