| Running Bad! So, I have been away from poker for awhile and just started playing again a few weeks ago. I am running so bad on fulltilt. I do not know whether this is because I have been away from the game awhile and I'm rusty or what. It seems no matter how I play a hand I lose to a four card straight or a four card flush on the board. I am just curious to know what some of you folks do when you are running bad. I mean people are catching miracle cards on me every time like runner, runner 2 outer types hands. Does anyone have any tips on what to do when one is running REALLY BAD? Other than take a break from the game ofcourse, since I just took about a 1 and a half year break. I am determined to work the kinks and holes in my game out this time, so any advice would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

| i find this when i spend to much time away from the table. Like they say when you stop learning thats when youf all behind. If it is a run of bad cards or getting out drawn then im sure the odds will be in your favour soon. good luck |

| This a great time to learn your tilt habits. I've convinced myself that I never tilt, because I will never get upset on a bad beat. I've seen it too many times, and it just doesn't phase me anymore. I'm sorta immune to the 'bad beat rant' and I laugh at those who continue to complain about it. ....so why do I start calling every suited connector or gapper that comes along? Why am I limping with KJo in early position?? BECAUSE that's the way I 'tilt'. I turn into a woosy calling station. It's my form of tilt. We will all run bad at some point, but running bad many times will affect play away from the proper way to play a hand. Watch out for that so you just aren't making a bad situation worse. Cheers |

| I appreciate everyone's advice! All will be taken into account. I do always drop down in limits when I'm on a bad run. I have been trying to lock down on my tilt habits. Typically, when I tilt I don't get crazy with my calling or playing alot of hands, but I tend to notice that I allow my self to get bullied when I am on tilt. something I will have to work on, but I did finally notice that was my normal tilt habit after going through some of the fulltilt academy lessons. Those by the way are excellent to help bring anyone's game up a notch. Thanks again everyone! |

If it were'nt for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. I have a lot of the same problems that you are having. AA, AK, KK, KQ, hole cards are driving me nuts. I lose and the next hand others win with the same hand that I lost on. I am looking into what is happening and try to figure out a new approach. I've tried going all in from the gitgo with good hole cards because it appears that if I play along trying to trap them and build the pot, someone beats me with trips/sets with low numbers. I'm working on it. My thinker has quit thinking. I think. Have the good day and a super Labor Day. |

| Sometimes the change of the games or the site can help to feel comfortable again. Maybe your sample size is too small, everyone is running bad in the short run. Just make good decisions and focus on the things you have under control (not the cards), your "luck" will come back soon... |

Another factor is tourny's don't allow you to reload to try and take the cash that player XYZ just bad beated you on. You're all done and have to wait for another game. That time could be enough time for you to calm down and get back to making good decisions. |

| Of course you are going to get unlucky on FTP. Has anyone even thought about the name of this site "Full Tilt" poker? You get what you pay for. All kidding aside I have a love/hate relationship with FTP and am addicted so just lower your limit, keep grinding and move on. |

| I have been having a bad run on Poker Stars the past couple of days. So I switched over to Full Tilt I and started playing better. Maybe a change of site will make a difference. |

| i am currently having the worse run i have ever experienced, some of my hands recently, have been for my tournament life, and big pots too. ill list a few of todays hands that have knocked me ou of a touurnament qq all in preflop against tt flop came q, 2, t, turn was a, 3, and the river was a t , quads on the river to beat my trip queens. then i had pocket 8s all in against pocket 5s the flop came 6,4,3 the turn was a 7 and the river was a j losing toa straight this time round. also every time i have two overcards against a pair i cant catch a card, and when i have the pair against two overcards i cant dodge the cards. whatever i seem to do i lose at the moment, its really bad for the confindence. |

| I've somehow learned to keep playing my game whether im running bad or not. It might help that i'm an arrogant person in real life and dont give a f about more than a handful of ppl. I just dont seem to care 90% of the time as far as bad beats and losing goes. So i think being heartless in a sense helps a lot. At the same time being 'cold' might hurt ur game so i dont know. |

Have you ever gone fairly deep in a couple dozen tourneys in the same time period (within a few sessions) & go out on a ton of 2outers, & lose multiple 80/20's in succession? If you haven't... when you have.... tell me how it feels (OR if it still doesn't feel). |
