| Ring game v MTT`s - a massive difference in skill Hi all, hope you are well. I have just started playing ring games and I have noticed a massive difference in skill between ring game players and MTT players. I was sitting at a table, bored, so I thought I would check out the stats of the people at the table who were, shall I say `loose` players. They seemed to be calling down with very little. It turned out that when I checked out these same people on OPR their stats were horrible - ROI`s of -50% and worse. It might be me, but is it down to the fact that these guys don`t make `technically` good moves because if they get beat they just top up, while in a MTT u lose your chips u r out? I`m not saying one person is more skillfull than another BTW. What u can`t do is check out someones ring game results when u r playing them in a MTT - I don`t think |

The big problem with playing MTT`s is the bonus of FPP is almost none existant so if u want to build them up u must play ring games - unless I`m missing something (I`m playing for FPP`s on Stars) |

| Ive noticed this too especially on the low and micro tables. Alot of ring game players tend to make huge bets with the low pairs or undercards or even just an ace. Ive quit playing ring game holdem because I get disgusted when it comes down to the river and people show high card A with a 7 kicker and when the hand after folding mid pair on the flop. Some would say there just out playing you but when youve got two and three people in a hand that are doing it thats just stupid. |

| I have always been a much stronger mtt and sng player rather than a live no limit player. I never like walking into a table with 30X the bb and have a few other people at table with 200X the bb. In a tourney everyone starts equal. when it comes to limit now that is another story. I would rather play a limit ring game just because of the time limit that is involved in limit mtt. |
