Right hand pain from playing poker
Did anybody ever experience pain with their mouse hand?
I think it could be because I was using a small mouse and my hands are pretty above average in size.... Thoughts? |

If not I presume you use the touch pad, which could drive me nuts while raising or folding etc.... . |

I've got RSI / carparal tunnel in my wrists (from playing guitar, not computing) and it can be an evil bastard of a thing.
One thing I can recommend is if it's just starting, don't wait for it to get worse before you do something about it. Take regular breaks, assess your posture so you're not working at funny angles or anything, replace your mouse if you think that's a problem, or see a doctor / chiropractor / whatever if you think you need to. But do it sooner rather than later. Once you've done the damage it never really goes away. |

If you have a nice ergonomic setup or don't overdo it or whatever you can go your whole life without problems - like there are people who play guitar their whole lives without problems. * I'm not a medical professional and this is in no way a professional medical opinion |

hmmmm Thinking about getting an adjustable desk as well as a new mouse... tough call, I'd hate to blow money on that and then still have the Non-comfort... It's not brutal pain, but I certainly feel it... oh well |

Also look for a 'mouse' that you hold in your hand and don't need a flat surface for. I have one that is like a trackball on top of a gun-like trigger. Really saves a lot of stress on the wrist. I got lucky and found mine in a local shop, never seen one in a catalog or online.

(that's my problem!) seriously, I bought a mouse pad with built in wrist support, that helps a lot. |

I just ordered a new mousepad, it was like $25 or something from an office supply store. Its all black, and like 1/3 of it is made of Memory Foam, the area where your wrist is laying, so its kind of properly sitting on a block of foam.
It looks like it will feel really good... cant wait to try it. |

When I play live, I'm shuffling chips almost the entire time. Toward the end of some 5+ hour sessions, I've sometimes experienced some pain in my arms. Havent played as much online so havent had to deal with any carpal tunnel, etc from internet pokerz.

FWIW I have both the track ball that I posted a link to and my normal mouse plugged in at the same time. So I can use either at any time. The track ball is good when your tables are lined up side to side so that you only have to roll back & forth. I'll use the regular mouse when moving across large chunks of screen real estate.
