Hey there I'm BRAND new to poker (i was talking to friends and I thought you could have five-of-a-kind--- that kind of new) and I'm doing a project for my college newspaper about cheating in poker. I figured it's close to Summer and alot of student are going to Vegas so I'd write a tongue-and-cheek article. Any ideas or funny stories anybody has had?

well if youre doing cheating in poker you could maybe include the ultimatebet scandal

Besides the Ultimatebet scandal already mentioned there isn't much else you'll find for online cheating. Maybe you should ask around the campus of those who play home games what kind of stunts they have pulled off.

Try google about "team" play in online poker. It is not funny, but kind of cheating.

Wasnt there a poker site that god in trouble last year for some guy using a program where he could literally see everbody's hole cards at the table? dam i cant remember the site right now but i know it happened.

try googling guy see's hole cards and caught or something i dunno. and yea of course there is the ultimate bet scandal with phil hellmuth getting a pot he actually lost. the dude was eventually refunded the money since the site caught its computer glitch. still very interesting though

you wont find alot of info about cheating though man. the big name sites such as FT and Pokerstars pay way too much money for their security systems they have in place.

That was the UB scandal.

It's called collusion. It happens from time to time. Most of the time they are caught by observant players or security checks from the sites.

Seeing as the poster is referring to college kids running off to Vegas, I personally think it would be silly to give him any definitive stories, especially about online play. Online play doesn't need any more bad raps, even if they are "tongue in cheek". Plus stories could easily be taken out of context, he has stated he is brand new to poker and he's brand new at this site, can't be sure of anything right now.

Just my opinion.
