Recommendations on Best Poker Books?

I'm just wondering can give me recommendations on 3 or so books to get? I will be getting these for free (Playing too much poker on sites = useless points)

Anyways, I'm getting Super System 2 from Inter Poker, so no need for SS1 since I heard it's nearly identical in the Hold Em section.

I plan on getting Both Harrington on Hold Em Books (FTP store just added them) Heard they are great for Tournament Play.

But after that I'm not quite sure, I was thinking maybe a Sklansky book (but there are quite a few, so which one?)

Also has anyone read Internet Texas Hold'em: Winning Strategies of an Internet Pro by Mathew Hilger? I saw good things said about his book, problem was it was on a forum where he posted at so there may be bias.

Besides that any other recommendations?

Harrington's books are great.

Re. Sklansky: Theory of Poker is a must-have if you're serious about poker. Holdem Poker for Advanced Players is good too, as is Tournament Poker for Advanced Players, though it's not a patch on the Harrington books. Be warned though, Sklansky uses a very mathematical, analytical approach which can be a lot to swallow initially, but it's worth it.

Well it really depends on what game you wanna play and your personality(actually brain power) . Anyways if you have a decent amount of formal education and like math go with Sklansky if you are more of a gambler go with the Super Systems you need both actually! You need both primarily because of the hand and odds charts in the back of SS1. Now Fundamental Theory of Poker is a TERRIFIC book but it is not the first book on poker you should read, it assumes you already have some experience and are trying to get to expert level. The absolute BEST book for hold'em, not specifically written for online play but relates perfectly to the game is Small Stakes Hold'em by Mason Malmuth and Sklansky(2+2 publishing). Tournamenst the Super Systems and Harrington on hold'em are hard to beat!

Well... I agree that you should buy the Super System 2. However, Sklansky gets to complicated at times. He surely is a must have, but I am not sure, whether he is gonna help you a lot. It so happened that it was the first book I ever read about poker and didn't understand a thing

maybe im just a newbie, but ive only read doyle's super system so far..and loved it.

the first edition, which i found used on amazon...heard that the second, new edition didnt have any changes in the no limit holdem section, which is all im interested in..

I say get em all, never can gain enough knowledge from to much reading. I just recently got done reading Phil Helmuth's and I liked it.

Yeah, I got HOH 1+2 today and read the first four parts of it, just wondering if this stuff is supposed to set in on first reading. Like Part 4 was all about Pot Odds, and while the general stuff I understood, there is quite a bit of stuff that didn't set in (eg. Harrington went on a formula where for example there is a ten percent shot opponent is bluffing, 50 Percent he has an under pair than you (you have aces in example hand) and 40 percent he has trips)
