| "THE REAL DEAL" People who belong to poker forums seem to forget several facts when posting anything negative about online poker. First of all, most people that belong to them are there for several reasons. For example, they want to share experiences with other players, learn how and what may help their game, stay current on events and different sites, maybe just to chit chat with other people. This list of reasons can go on and on. If I’m in a forum, I’m playing in a tournament. Usually it’s early in a game and when I’m tight, and the game is a bit boring. It could take me thirty minutes to make a simple post, going back and forth. In fact I’m playing in one has I type this. You must admit after reading tons of negative posts about online poker, that most are ridicules. Players posting rigged crap with judgments made based on a thousand hands or less, big stack sweeps, action flops created by sites, etc... With just that being said I could go on another hour or so with the bullshit we read. Sometimes you can’t even finish reading one of these posts you stumbled into. Of course everyone wants proof of any accusation when trashing our beloved online poker game. But even after facts of proven scandals, such as Absolute, PokerStars, FullTilt, and who knows what’s next; do you really think that will slow down any of us online poker players? With so much taking place with online poker, it always was a risky place to do business, and is only getting worse. For what we will except now as fact scandals, there is much more taking place and always was. Many of these bad beat stories yes are ridicules, but many could have been a result of repeated unfair play. Collusion being number one, along with bots, and an assortment of different software programs recommending how to play to donks, who call themselves poker players. Most of these complaints come from the cash tables, where 99% of it actually takes place. But even if someone were to bring a negative post about online poker which makes sense and should be considered, they too will also get trashed. With all the right reasons to belong to a forum, most members just don’t want to hear about anything negative, and will jump all over anyone making noise. We just want to play poker. I’m sure this post is going to follow up with all you wealthy winners out there. But I think everyone should really start looking at online poker in the face, and take it for what it really is. Online poker is a great place to learn the game and have some fun. Some may win allot, but most will lose allot. And most importantly, gain enough knowledge and a good enough game, to move into the real game of poker. LIVE - PLAY Man did I open a can of worms here. |
