Ranking the Blogs ... just my opinion.

I like poker blogs. I read them. Go ahead, call me a nerd. Whatever.

Anyways, I read some more than others and I think many CCers would do well by checking in with these blogs because more often than not because they are highly entertaining and insightful. Now, don't get upset or get your feelings hurt if i didn't rank you or you got a lower grade than you think you deserved. I am not a mod or any superstar of the poker community, just a fan of poker blogs ... so deal with it.

From the approved CC list, here are my personal grades for each blog (I omitted my own):

Grade A: (frequent updates / great content / great design)

• Cardschat Blog [F Paulsson]
• Canadian Dream[ChuckTs]
  • ChuckTs is a CardsChat institution. His blog is usually fantastic and his posts insightful into his poker life.
• KingCurtis' Poker Blog
  • Not only has this guy risen his game to a new level, he's designed a great blog and really done well updating it with great info
• Zach's Poker Blog
  • One of the true young CC guns, he is armed with a great blog.

Grade B: (solid updates/solid content/decent design)

• Bombjack's Poker Blog [Bombjack]
• Custo's Poker Blog - A true Aussie Battler
  • This blog just started but I LOVE the design and I think this could move into the A category after another month
• Inscore's Poker Blog
  • I just wish there was an update recently!
• lightning strikes
  • good content, goes WAY back, below avg design
• Stick's Poker Blog [MrSticker]
  • Great content. Wish the HTML wasn't looking so weird and broken (right side)

Grade C: (sporadic updates/average content)

• Bob_tigers adventure
  • bob is a great player, would love to see more content
• My Chronicles
  • would love this more if not for the brutal design
• What a life,playing poker in fife [crockofdoom]
  • plenty of potential here
• Hell’s Cold Day[Grundy]
• Irexes' Happy Fun Poker Blog [Irexes]
  • when he posts, its awesome. Too bad that's about 2 or 3 times a month
• Tenbobs Poker Blog [Tenbob]
  • another fav CCer of mine. Good content, infrequent updates

Grade D: (barely any updates/content)

• Poker Blog[T-T's] (updated, just minimal content)
• Tales from the River [beardyian]
  • very disappointing that one of my fav CCers doesn't update his blog

Grade F: (dead / hasn't been updated in +1 months)

• Emperor of Spades [Emperor IX]
  • VERY disappointing. Emperor is a solid player and good guy, I'd love to see a regular blog from him
• Flush on the River [JBellah]
• Jive Aces [Wlokos]
• Life and Poker [_MavsFan_]
• SKD1337 Blog
• Tigersmith's Online Poker Updates
• Flash4thewin- Fall Down Seven Stand Up Eight [heatfan03]

Grade C Guess ill have to update more.

The "weird" HTML is a standard Blogger template like yours, only a different color, a bit wider, and without a 2nd background texture. Can't find any "broken" HTML, though.

your column thing on the right has always been off, Stick. It starts after your last post. I always figured it was just a techie problem you didn't know how to fix (I don't either :/ )

Awesome, Im glad mine is grade A, although the design now, is just a temporary nice look untill I get the real thing done which I'm putting a lot of work into now.

I have bben posting almost everyday, and although I may not have a million readers I enjoy the one's who do read and post.

I think this thread is making more people either start blog's or make theirs better which is a good thing, good stuff Ice.

Right on, I had no idea this thread would be this popular, but the idea was to give props to those that have great blogs, and to inspire those that *could* have amazing blogs to be motivated to put a little more time into doing so.

For those that need a new blog, I would highly recommend blogger (free!). It's cross-linked with your gmail/google account as well as picasa. And if you want your own domain name, it's only $10/yr.

Also I'm not very good with designing it and stuff but I'm going to have to agree with SeanyJ everytime i make some dumb play i get mad at myself get lazy, stop updating etc etc, I def need to update more often and have some one help me design it and stuff. Thanks icemonkey awesome thread and fantastic feedback, I look forward to next month. My blog will have the good times and the bad times. The good times to share my victories and celebrations and the bad times to get help and feedback to learn and develop. I remember one of my earlier posts on CC was how I was proud to flop a flush and fold to a maniac, boy, I learnt from that mistake.

I think mine may be the oldest with 470 entries dating back to 2005 (though not a lot of content in a lot of the older ones).

Word. It's funny when I felt like writing this thread I was worried it would be controversial and upset people ... but the intended meaning was 100% found! I really wanted to give the great bloggers their credit, and help inspire those that *could* have great blogs to do so.

it's like a diary right ? can you explain a little more so that you can get the non blogg readers interested . just enjoy reading or reading about someone you know ?

Many are like diaries. But others aren't so much. You'll just have to check each out for yourself.

I try to make mine more appealing by posting things like book reviews and Full Tilt mods to give my readers something they can really use. I also post links to stories I think might be important and I give my take on poker subjects of interest. I even put non-poker stuff in mine like wicked NHL hits and old pics of Vanna White.

A blog is what you make it, man.
