Random 3 am thought

We all know with online poker, there is a random number/card generator that is constantly "shuffling" the virtual deck. Lets say it board is showing a flop and the turn, and now we're waiting for the river card. While one opponent is considering a call or fold, the random number/card generator is constantly going through the remaining virtual deck in random order. No one can know what the last card is going to be. This means that none of the cards shown on the flop, turn, and river is set in stone.

The same isnt said during a live game, though. Once the dealer has dealt out the cards, there is no more shuffling involved. This means whatever comes out on the flop, turn, and river is set in stone. There is nothing that will change it. If the flop comes AAA, then thats because thats the order the cards were placed when shuffling ended. Of course, you dont know whats going to come. If you need one more club to make a flush on the river to win the pot, whatever card has been predetermined after the shuffling ended is going to be the river card. Nothing is going to change it. Even if you are getting the best odds possible, you're either going to miss or hit because its all been predetermined.

But what if we kept it random during live games? What if the deck was constantly shuffled even after the cards had been dealt? This means what comes out on the flop had not been predetermined. The combinations of cards to come out on the flop is constantly changing until shuffling ends and a flop is shown. The same with the turn and river. The dealer will keep shuffling until action is on them.

How would this fair in live games? Would it make it more exciting for the players? The thought that an extra shuffle might've given you that like 'lucky' break that you might not have had. Is this something you would be interested in trying in a live game?

I know its not going to change any odds of catching a hand. If you have a 20% chance to catch and win, you're still going to have the same 20% no matter how many times the deck has been shuffled.

You know, I dont see it happening, I think it would be a waste of time actually. I dont see any kind of advantage from doing it. And the card you get is set in stone, just on a different shuffle. Its like when trying to make a decision about something or another. That old saying, "your first choice is usually the best choice." I think that says it all for me. I dont think they should do it like that online either. Just shuffle up and deal...LoL! Not, shuffle up, deal, shuffle up, deal, shuffle up, deal...heheh

Why would this be any more 'random' then the original shuffle? Just because the deck is now in constant shuffle, does not mean that any one individual card is now more or less likely to come. The 'predetermination' of the original shuffle has no bearing on the 'randomness' of the cards dealt.

Also, the RNG guys probably can refute or confirm this, but: I believe online 'decks' are generated and the action of all streets is 'known' by the computer before the cards are even dealt. Each hand is a unique deck and then that particualr deck is dealt to that table.

The ONLY reason to have a constant shuffle online is to prevent hacking. It would provide NO benefit live. Actually, a detriment since there would be possible card flashing. Go to sleep.

The turn and the river are not set in stone is where the manipulation or rigging could occur depending on player’s action. A random generator can be changed to favor the bigger bettor to increase the pot size and encourage bad caller or raiser.

That’s why I think one of the rules to regulate online poker is to force the turn and the river to be set in stone.

This is so wrong! It opens up the very real probability that someone can hack in and see what is coming before it is publicly known. This specifically addresses a security concern none of us wants re-opened.

It may only be a few more steps to hack in and cause a certain card to become the turn or river, but it is a few more steps, and that itself weeds out many more hackers.
