Raise Preflop in Omaha hi/lo

In Omaha hi/lo the game does not start until after the flop. One can have a great starting hand pre flop, and had it turn to rubbish after the flop.

My question to the CCs is this: What do you thing about raising pre flop in Omaha hi/lo?

Personally I will call a small raise if I have a decent starting hand. But, will fold almost any hand preflop if the raise is too steep.

If I am at a ring table where there is lots of raising preflop, I will change tables.

Just like to get some input.

You really won't raise AA23 double suited pre-flop ?

I usually raise if I have A, 2. If I have four cards under 8 I would call raises. Anything else I either fold or try to play for cheap.

Really depends on your position relative to the raiser and any subsequent callers. But tight play is usually rewarded in omaha hi/lo

Well, Maybe I spoke too fast. Probable would if it did not exhaust my stack.

I have hands close to that which turned to rubish after the flop.

Let me tell you a story. I had a good stack once in Omaha hi and wanted to make it to the money. So, I was going to blind out. I said I would not bet or call anything other than AAKK double suited.

Lo and behold, that hand came up. I called a big bet preflop and lost. haha.

Did not make the money.

Yea, I love to have A2 in my hand. It is the nuts if three low card are on the board and no A2 there.

Only problem is, one could get quardered. But, it is fun playing Omaha hi/lo

Yeah, there are some hands to raise pre, like AhKhAs2s, or along that line, because you have two flush pssibilities, top pair, and the 2 best lo hand starting cards.
