Question about sitting at a table with a Donkey...

When you're at a table with a person you absolutely know is a donkey -- and they're paying you off very nicely -- do you root for them in pots with other players?

Right now I'm sitting at a .10/.20 table with an extreme donkey. He is basically the only one at the table giving me their money... yet, he has put a few bad beats on me and knocked me down a bit.

Every single time he enters a hand with someone betting strong, though, I find myself pulling for him, heh. If someone goes all-in preflop (usually with JJ or better), he'll call with A8o, and once he called in all in with T4s.

I won 3 all-ins against him and he refilled with $10 every time. Biggest pot was $19 against him and another player. I had a full house, the other player I was trapping hit his nut flush on the turn, and there's no telling what donk had.

And literally, as I'm typing this up I win a $14 all-in pot against him. I had KK and raised 5X BB, he re-raises all-in, and I call. He had A9s. And boo! at breaking him with that hand, hehe. He's left the table now. I guess I kept him for as long as I good; I was complimenting his wins, keeping a conversation going, and even folding almost all of my blinds to him to keep him at the table.

It was a good 40 minute session, though.

+$39 in 40 minutes at a .10/.20 isn't bad at all.

So, any opinions on milking the donkey (no pun intended) at tables? And rooting for them when they're against other players?

Ohh, and yes, I took his name down.

Well one thing you never do is discourage their bad play...you always hear people freaking out at them at a table, but really you want them to play bad, so why discourage?
It sounds like you milked this guy for all he's got though; encouraging him isn't a bad idea at all

Last week I was at a micro table with someone who was clearly drunk. I tried to be as friendly as possible to him and joke around with him as I took his money. I figured as long as he was having fun he'd stay at the table.

Have you all taken a page from Mike Caro's University. You guys have the sound strategy for the donkeys. Just talk to them and help make them have fun while you are taking thier money? Also, dont forget to put them on your buddy list so may find them easier in the future.

i find that if you badmouth them they want to "come after you" and therefore stack-off to you when you catch them
