I've just decided I will never play for a living because I couldn't handle all the stress poker brings. That's just me and the low tables talking, but it wouldn't be worth it to me... too much money lost on a picture perfect hand by a river from hell!! Not to mention Im not good enough...

re: Pros? poker Well I do play for a living, been playing full time for around four years. My main game is the 20/40 nl game at the commerce but I also travel the home game circuit, I play a 25/50 nl game on Sundays, and some 10/20's mixed with a few 5/10's. BUT at the same time I don't call myself a "pro" to me a pro is a flashy tv guy that has sponsers and showboats himself! I just say that I play for a living and leave it at that! I do play tournaments but do so more for fun then anything else (this I have learned) I have done well in some tournaments and even have one big win but other then that I make my living from live cash games. Recently I have been trying to get in to online poker some but I seem to be having a hard time taking it as seriously as I do live games, there us so much money online that I would love to take a piece of it but haven't really accomplished it as of yet! Online really points out a lot of holes in your game that you get away with when playing live! Plus people online seem to call so much more often....

Hard to say because its hard to define what a pro really is... for example, BelgoSuisse once mentioned that he has a full time job yet makes about 2000 a month 8 tabling 100nl or 200nl, I cant remember which. Is he a pro? Other people on here im sure have no jobs and play a lot of poker... and lose a lot while they're at it. Are they pros? Imo if you decide that you play poker professionally and you are making enough that you can live on it, you can be considered a pro.

I have been playing poker as my only source of income for some time. I make about $1500 a month on average playing mostly $10 sit n gos. I'm skint all the time but it pays the rent and bills, and its still more than I'd earn full time in a bar job or supermarket. I'm unemployed and can't find a stupid 9 to 5 job anywhere, so this is the only thing I can do to earn money. Does this make me a pro?

I know i'm not a pro, and miles away from being one. I'm trying to get a job, hopefully get one soon so I can deposit at least $150 on FTP(first time deposit will be $300). From there, hopefully make over 10K in 6 months and qualify for a WSOP package and win a million buck. But yet again this is just a dream, and i'm more likely to lose the $300 inside a month than making just 1k, LOL.
