Props at the tables
I was watching learn from the pros on TV last night and they had a small discussion on sunglasses and such at the tables. Now most of the pros on thier(Howard Lederer, Erik Siedel and Ted Forrest) were saying that it would probalbly be better if props of such kind would be banned from tournaments to give all a even chance. What are your thoughts?

"Props" such as sunglasses, hats, hoodies, etc.. have been part of the game for a long time. Back in the day it may have been a revolver laying next to 'em saying "don't mess with me".
That being said I really don't think sunglasses give an unfair advantage. I think the "Props" are more of a security object to the player using them than a disadvantage to other players. If wearing sunglasses at the table makes you more calm/confident.. so be it. Just don't mistake them pocket 4's for pocket Aces! ![]() |

I don't think the casinos are going to ban sunglasses or any other thing that might conceal their "tells." Do you really thnik they are going to ban Greg Raymer's trademark glasses? What some players come up with for "props" makes great TV viewing.

![]() For some, sunglasses are a prop for certain situations, but others use them as a tool. Last edited by wsorbust : 22-06-2006 at 4:00 AM. |
