| POST MORE HAND HISTORIES!! This is just a reminder to all you guys to post more in the hand analysis section. We have thousands of threads and posts, but only a fraction of them make up the hand analysis section. I think I recall FP actually making a request like this a while back, if my memory serves, and I just want to emphasize this more. Any time you have to pause and think about a hand for an unusual amount of time, post it here and ask for advice. Any time you have a difficult decision, post it here and you will get a great response from one of our many members that will no doubt help you. Even our most experienced members, FP for example, learn something new every time they post a HH for analysis because they get a different perspective and see things they might have missed. Not only that but when you respond to threads, you're keeping your poker skills tuned up and improving your game aswell. Anyways it'll help your game guaranteed, and I don't think we have nearly enough of these posts (after all, that's what poker forums are for right?) - so START POSTING MORE! |

| LMAO!!!! "Bing!" You just pressed the button, Chuck. I absolutely LOVE posting Hold 'em hand histories in hopes of getting opinions. The problem is that, after waiting a few days, I usually only get about 3-4 mostly-short responses. Then someone else posts some weird Omaha hand and gets 20 responses in a day. I even tried posting HH's with polls attached (remember A9 & AJ?), but then someone posted a poll making fun of my polls and others. I don't know if folks have a problem with me personally or if they think my HH's are too simple to analyze. Either way, I'm not liking the level of response (or lack of) that I'm getting. This place is turning into more of a gabfest forum than a poker forum. The joke posts, video game links, and other off-topic posts are overtaking the theme here. Of course, people have a right to post what they want within the rules. But to ask for more serious poker talk here looks like it could turn out to be a lost cause, my friend. Good luck with that. |

| re: POST MORE HAND HISTORIES!! poker Just out of curiosity, how many hands can you post at once? I want to know if I can post a tournament's plays worth. I kinda figured out where my holes are in my game but just want a second opinion on them. |

I thought you got a good overall response for your A9 thread though, no? |

| re: POST MORE HAND HISTORIES!! poker I'm in the same boat as you Mr S. I seem to get very little in the way of replies when I post in the HA forum. I try to pick ones that are a little tricky or different but to no avail. I will try to post some more though and hope I can get some decent replies. If there is anyone out there that is willing to look at a whole SNG's worth of HH's that would be a great help to many. I like to make some posts that are jokes or what have you but I would agree that the more poker related threads the better for all our games. |

1) leave out the results 2) Tell us any reads on players. 3) Tell us your train of thought, as to why you called/raised/folded and why you made your action. Give as much information as possible, + dont be afraid to play devils advocate on the hand, disagreeing with an opnion to spark debate is not always a bad thing. |

| Hand Analysis is my favourite forum (as you probably guessed). Trouble is there don't seem to be too many people who know about anything but Hold'em. The response when I post an Omaha or Stud hand usually along the lines of "I don't know anything about Omaha, but...", if I get a response at all... |

I'm always reading the HA but usually dont have many opinions. Usually whenever I do have an opinion someon else has posted the same thing. I dont put many HH up because I have obviouse holes in my game and can tell you where I screwed up before the hand is over. I will try to post some hands that I get donked out of so maybe somebody can tell me what the other guy was thinking. |

So, to help us out some, I have created this poll. Maybe it will give some insight on things to do better to boost posting and responses in the HA section. Last edited by Jack Daniels : 6th November 2006 at 3:00 PM. |

| Keep in mind that I'm not saying that people should not have their own opinions. They should, that's what this forum is for. And everyone should feel free to express themselves. The issue we may face, in some respects, is finding the delicate balance in the middle of having/expressing opinion and providing constructive/non-insulting feedback. Long term winning players don't always know it all and newbies are often looking for guidance. Granted that many (most?) newbie post do lack the details we want to see, but even that can be handled with different responses. And calling them an idiot (directly or indirectly) is never the right way. Many of us have well developed relationships here (at least to varying degrees), so we can respond to each other a little differently (or more harshly) based on that relationship. But you can't let that carry over into general HA, or the newbies will stay away. And that defeats the point of HA. |
