| Is it possible to strengthen wireless signal? Any one else have this problem? On a pretty regular basis my wireless signal will suddenly drop and it pretty much happens right when I commit a huge chunk of my stack!!! By the time I get back on my money is gone and it is a dozen hands down he road. I am not much of a computer guy. I unplug my modem and router and turn off my computer and start the whole thing up again and sometimes this helps but the problem just resurfaces again in a couple of days. Is there any kind of additional equipment I can use to strengthen the signal and put a stop to these drops? |

| Given your exact description (that this happens a couple of days afetr a reboot), why not reboot once a day and see if that helps. A few years ago (with an older computer) the computer would freeze up at random after being on for several days. I started rebooting it every morning and I didn't have it freeze up on me again until I eventually repalced it. |

Like the guy above mentions. If there is a walmart near you. They sell Linksys wireless routers. The best one they have will cost you around $70. It is worth it though. I bought my parents one and now when i visit them I can be on my laptop outside in the back yard. Not what I bought it for though, they just needed a better one. Check it out though. I pay $20 a month for AT&T wireless as well as ethernet. It works great. No problems. In the summer I take the laptop out onto the back deck and play poker and cook out. Man I can't wait for summer again..lol. $20 a month you can't beat it. |
