I think to play a good game you have to play tight, and by multi-tabling you decrease the temptation to play marginal hands. It's not too bad if you're playing 5 or 6 handed, but at a 10-seater where you should optimally be playing around 15% of hands, it'd be really slow going just playing one table. Obviously you'll increase your hourly win rate as well especailly if you're playing 10-seaters.

I voted no I don't multi table. It just seems that I can't concentrate on both at the same time. I used to multi table, but not anymore!

I voted for the first one. Not totally the correct choice for me but it was better than 'other'. Like I said on the other thread I multi-table so I concentrate more on the computer than something away from the computer catching my attention.

I thought about it mischman, but I wanted ppl to think of the main reason.

When I do multi table it is for a lot of the reasons stated, but mainly I hate bad beat, so I multi table so that they are less noticable

Used to multitable 3x10 ring games (low limit) at PP;also tried 4 but this was too much - kept getting autofolded. Would play TAG (mainly) for an hour, i.e. on the combined tables playing about 50% of the time and rarely had a losing session. Advantage is you tend to play premium hands and high suited connectors; disadvantage is you can't pay too much attention to what your opponents are doing/showing.

My reasons for multitabling are the same as what bombjack and the rifle said. It increases the amount of times that you'll see top 10 type hands and reduces the temptation to play marginal hands like A-rag. When you go card dead on one table you are still going to get hands somewhere if you multi table.

once I got a decent Lcd and video card, and ya can see 2 or 3 screens at once, it makes a BIG difference. alsoIll multi with a MTT combined with a limit ring game. keeps me playing more premiums on MTT, while getting player points on the cash game........ till Im broke in both!!yuk....

Ronald,

I guess I should have said in my last post I don't multi table not anymore. I used to a long while back when I was playing more often. Especially when I was trying to clear a deposit bonus. (at JetSet Poker)

I think I currently I couldn't do it.

I multi-table to cure boredom so I don't play just marginal hands, which I happen to do alot when playing just one table.

Agreed! When I get bored, I am more likely to play junk hands. Which means I become everyone's favorite player at the table (if you know what I mean).

And the good news? I just read on another thread that FullTilt now has a beta version with window resizing. My multitabling has just gotten easier!

Generally, you fold more hands than you play. So, there will be times when you have to wait until the hand you're not in is over and sometimes it takes a while. So, why not use this time to play another table while you're waiting? It certainly keeps you focused.

Never if I feel that the game is to low to be of interest or that I am having difficulty with my focus I think that it would be better to either quite the game or double stakes. when you go from 1-2 to 2-4 or 5-10 you will automaticly be more ready to play. better to play one game well rather then two with questionable play or distractions.

It increases my hourly rate without increasing variance that much. My usual set-up is 3 limit tables, or 4 NL tables.

I was doing the multitable thing at Party today. On one table I had a straight draw, on another 3 of a kind, and on the third a flush draw all at the same time. I had to be quick between the tables as they were short handed so when, on the third table, the third spade landed and I'm sitting there with Ks10s and there are no pairs on the board with the As staring at me from the community cards and someone going all-in, I quickly hit the all-in button. Then I got the messge "you lost, want to show your cards". What? How? Nighmare Ks10c - in my haste I had misread my cards - bummer (only 3$ though) - first time for me, definitely a potential pitfall of mutli-tabling. (I have tried the four coloured deck but it isn't for me I'm afraid.)

Exactly... I couldn't have phrased it any better than this...
