* To earn the 20% deposit bonus, a player must earn 20 VPPs per bonus dollar (example: to earn a $120 bonus you must earn 2400 VPPs). To receive your bonus, you must earn the required VPPs within 3 months of your qualifying deposit. To earn the entire $120 bonus, your first eligible deposit during the bonus period must be for $600 or more. Only the first deposit made during the bonus period is eligible for the bonus. For full bonus details click here.

SOMEONE THAT IS SMARTER THAN ME PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS BECAUSE IM THINKING ABOUT PUTTING IN 100 BUCKS JUST TO GET THE 20% BONUS BUT I DONT UNDERSTAND THE STIPULATIONS

100 bucks.... 20% bonus aka $20.

600 bucks (max) 20% bonus aka $120.

So for your case, to earn your extra $20 you need to earn 400 VPP points.

I deposited $400 to play rings (up to $680 now ^^) at 12:31 AM last night, well this morning technically, so I missed it by what, 12 hours?

I emailed pokerstars and see if they will hook me up with a bonus on my account.

Dang! Isn't it usually only 10 FPPs per dollar? I just deposited 2 days ago and I was mad until I saw this. Oh well.

I once cleared 500 F/VPPs in 7 weeks playing mainly .50/$1 Limit games.

Eh how long it takes to clear VPP's really depends on 1) the limits you play and 2) how many tables you play.

To give you a rough idea I've been playing 6-tables of $25 NL full ring for a while tonight and i've cleared umm... 193 VPPs at the time of this post.

1007 more to go!

/cleared ~1700 in one week (7 days) back a few months.
//yes I was sorta physically attached to the computer.

If playing ring games, you'll need the pot to reach $8.00 to earn 1 F/VPP (only for hand that you play in). In my experience, you'll pretty much never reach that at the .05/.10 level, and only sporadically at the .25/.50 level. To really start accumulating F/VPP's, you'd probably have to start playing .50/$1.00 more often, especially if you're going for the full $120 bonus. If only going for $20 or $40 in 3 months, you'd probably be ok playing .25/.50 and/or $3+ SnG's. That's the route I'm going.

I have now played 1200 hands on NL 100 and I have earned 620 Base FPP

So at NL 50 you have to play about 1200 *2 = 2400 * 4 = 9600 hands to get the bonus (that is if you are goldstar like I am , if you are bronzestar ore silverstar I think you must add between 2-4000 hands extra)

The normal hands per hour is among 60 hands per table.
( I dont now what the hand pr hour is on the fast tables)

The bonus was harder to clear than I thought.. I thought it would take me 3 hours to clear but no... It will take me in total about 1200*4 = 4800 hands...

That is among 8 hours for me if I play 8 tables at once in NL100.

You are right that lower limits = more hands needed to clear bonuses but bronze/silver/goldstar doesn't make any difference at all.

You have to get VPPs to clear a bonus. silver/gold star status increases your FPP earn rate. At bronze star 1 VPP = 1 FPP. At silverstar 1 VPP = 1.5 FPP and at gold 1 VPP = 2 FPP.

VPPs are what matter for clearing the bonus so if you need 1000 VPP's to clear your bonus (nice round number) you have to earn those 1000 regardless of your status. ALL status levels have to earn those 1000 VPPs (earned in exactly the same way for all). The only difference is if you are bronzestar you get 1000 FPPs from clearing your bonus. If you are silverstar you get 1500 FPPs, etc.

The bonus requires you to get VPP not FPP, it doesn't matter which Star level you are at you get the same VPP as everyone else.

Edit: I was too slow

This is bad logic. Double the blinds does not equate to double the VPPs.

Someone linked to a 2+2 thread that used this:

25NL - 0.125 VPPs/hand (125 VPPs per 1000 hands)

50NL - 0.23 VPPs/hand (230 VPPs per 1000 hands)

100NL - 0.38 VPPs/hand (380 VPPs per 1000 hands)

So depending on how many hands/hour you play (multitabling helps in this regard) you can figure out how long you have to play. Alternatively, the lowest limit HORSE games on pokerstars are very soft and because of how loose people play in limit games can get you VPPs very quickly. I 4-tabled and was making about 100/hour. These have 5 cent ante's for the ante games and 25c/50c blinds for the hold 'em and omaha games with the small bets of 50c and the big bets of $1.

Deam,.,.Thats why I thought the bonus was easy to clear since I thought it was FPP.......

Thanks for clearing out the numbers zachvac. And I have never tried horse, but it looks promising when you profit that much on it...

I can't believe they made this one 20 VPPs per dollar of bonus. I'm very busy for the next few months, so I'm not even going to try it, I won't be able to clear it. If they gave the bonus if chunks, like FT, then I could. Oh well, maybe next time.

ok finally scraped the cash together to deposit. played about a half an hour, 84/2400 plus a nice $60 profit . btw 12-tabling 50nl is a fast way to earn FPPs, it should take me about 13 hours playing time to get it.

Are you saying that you play 12 tables at one time?!?! If so, that's pretty damn impressive... especially if you're able to make a profit doing it! My current effective max is 4 tables at a time, but I am playing mostly Omaha Hi-Lo SnG's. The other day I mistakingly registered in 5 tournaments. It ended up being ok because 2 of them were Holdem, but if all 5 had been O8, I think I would have struggled. Not sure how many Holdem tables I could handle at a time, but since I play about 75% O8, I've never tried to max out on HE. Certainly it's a lot more straight forward and you can therefore manage more at the same time without a major risk of missing something... but, I still doubt I could manage more than 6-7 HE tables simultaneously.

Seems to me unless u play most of your waking hours most people will never make the bonus. If they made it alittle more realistic i think they would get more people to reload. I've given up on most reload bonuses. I get the feeling that's y they do it , so they don't have to pay them out. The only good thing I can remember about party poker is u knew where u stood in the number of hands u needed to play and they did'nt care if u played the smaller amount tables to get it.

Yes 12 at a time NLHE, there are at least 2 other members here that do that and many many more that do a few less (I've heard 6-8).

It's going to take me about 13 hours of pure playing in 3 months. Pretty sure I'll manage it without playing most of my waking hours. And of course that's the reason they do it. They want people to deposit, play above their BR, and most likely lose it without even earning the bonus. Then they have the choice to either deposit even more or just give up, both of which are profitable for Pokerstars. They're not giving the bonus out of the kindness of their heart, it's a pretty good money-making scheme. If you know you can make it while playing with effective BRM (as you would normally) it's free money. If you can't you shouldn't do it, or you're the ones donating to those who can.
