PS PPA freeroll question.

This is at least the 2nd time PS has run these PPA (Poker Players Association) freerolls. The last time they ran them for about 2 weeks.

For that round, you could only play in one of them.

I'm wondering if anyone who played in that round, (seem to remember it happening in Feb or Mar of this year) has tried successfully to get into one of these current round of freerolls?

The "fine print" on these says that if you played previously, entry is verbotin. Not being a dedicated FRW, I haven't tried registering for another one yet.

I joined the PPA by playing in a FT PPA freeroll while I'm sure PS has no idea that I'm a PPA free member, and I'd love to have the cash, it is just not in me to try and beat the system here.

Don't get me wrong I'm as much a freeroll whore than most of you, and someone playing the angles of on-line poker registrations just might cash. Personally I hope karma catches up with them if they do.

Yeah, I joined through the Tilt drive too. And I have been so tempted.......But not gonna do it (wouldn't be prudent -- for me, at least). I'm never going to make any money online, what with being so qualm-laden and all

Hi all,
I emailed pokerstars to see if I was allowed to enter more than once, here is their reply :

Hello Tony,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately players who have ever participated in a previous PPA
tournament are ineligible to play.

Let us know if you have further questions or concerns.

Regards,

Julio

So officially the answer is NO,

Tony

Yeah I've been playing on-line long enough to know 1/2 dozen ways to play from the same cpu, and e-mail accounts are less than a dime a dozen.

I mean if the possible cash really means that to you, I guess I can't fault a guy for trying. But given what the PPA is trying to do for us all, to me it's like signing up at Carbon as a new member every 30 days or until you cash. To me it's just not worth it.

I don't even like it when one of my friends gives me a password for a private event that I didn't earn. Hell I have to stay off that site because I've told them I couldn't play in the event for other reasons. I fully understand them trying to help a buddy, but the margins are so slim for these affiliates, I personally would like to see those who have earned the entry have a better shot.

But I'm also the same "old school" a-hole who thinks hand histories should be banned from all but play chip events. There are many ways to get an edge, or try to on-line. I just started playing in live poker leagues, part of my PPA outreach efforts, and I know all the software help is never going to help my live game so I never wanted to get dependent on it.

For those of you who haven't tried these poker bar leagues, they are a lot of fun. No a bad little business model, free poker and prizes paid for the bar or venue, not directly as in many states that is against the law. The operators make a deal with the bar owners because the bar owners make a profit from the increased business.

Either I'm better than I thought or the games are soft! 4 tourneys, 3 final tables and 1 win! Not bad considering I spent most my time pimping for the PPA and answering questions.
