Pokerstars, FullTilt or Ultimatebet?

..or somewhere else?

I've primarily been playing on bodog, but the bottom line is they just don't have enough traffic on the sit n go's to keep me happy. Their promotions leave alot to be desired compared to the other sites as well.

So if you mainly plan to do sng/mtts which of the above is your favorite and why?

Stars. Their SNGs fill up quickly and the blind levels of the non-turbos aren't as quick as those at Full Tilt.

I believe Full tilt to be the best they have all kinds of diffrent stakes for there sng's and mtt's along with relatively good blind increases and also they fill up quickly

Actually Ultimatebet apparently has a very great SNG structure (ask AG). However, that being said, I highly recommend Stars.

Can a mod maybe turn this into a poll thread with the top 5 or so big names PS, FT, BD, Absolute and Ultimate?

I've thought of creating a poll such as this, now that this is here, might as well make it a voting style thread. (easier to read )

if you are looking to play $1 SNG's, do NOT play at full tilt, play at pokerstars becuase the pokerstars entry fee is only .10, whereas the ft entry fee is a mammoth .25

all entry fees should be 10%, not the bogus $1 entry fees of 25%

well right now im on pokerstars right now playing micro levels and i was playing a lot of higher limits on full tilt....but i like the way FT is settup from there graphics to their hand histories...i enjoy the site....they have pretty large show ups for tourneys and headsup sng's and regualar Mtt's fill up fairly quick. right now im liking how Pokerstars has the mega micro low cash games...since my bankroll is small...its really hard to flip a BR on FT since there lowest buyins are .10 $ rebuys but the rebuy is .50$ and the cash games are .05/.10$

UltimateBet is probably the best for micro-limit SNGs with limits as low as .50+.05 (10% rake) and 10 minute blind levels, some of thier higher level SNGs have 12 minute blind levels Decent selection of Tournaments at all levels

Full Tilt has the most user friendly interface and alot of good MTTs generally smaller fields than pokerstars so a little less money but alot of guaranteed tourneys, they also have the FTOPS which has alot of great tourneys. Bad blind structures (6 min non turbos) at the SNGs and terrible rake at low limits so not so good for a SNG player.

Pokerstars has the highest traffic so generally much bigger fields in the MTTs so top 3 pays out great and the SNGs have a 10 minute blind structure as well and fill up quickly.

I'd say you'd most likely fit in at Pokerstars the best.

Pokerstars charge .20 on a $1 NL holdem (20%). They charge .10 on other types of games. Problem with pokerstars is that you have to jump straight from $1 to $5 in terms of the next level of buyin. All the $3 games are turbo, and I don't do turbo.

I think Tygran plays more at the 10/20 level anyway.

Agree.

UltimateBet not on the map?! The ONLY area they fall short in might be volume/wait for a game.

1. Best structure/most play: you are usually not in a preflop ICM shove competition, even in the money
2. Best limit/level selection, down to $0.50: there is NEVER any reason to go broke on this site, as you can keep moving down an have 10x the buy-in with only $10 in your account.
3. Rake is only 10%, even at the lowest levels: unlike FT and others.

As well as having the slowest and ugliest gaming interface around. On the plus side the blind structures are nice and slow, if that suits your game.

I don't find the interface either slow or ugly. As to "suits your game", a slower structure favors a skilled player, so yeah, it does.

Id rank Stars at 1st, with Full Tilt 2nd

Ultimatebet im never too sure about, plus points are in the MTTs when they clear the sit outs , minus is the cash games are full of foul mouthed maniacs

I would say Poker Stars is the best indeed. The traffic there is never ever a problem!

Personally, I'd rather pull my own teeth than endure another Ultimatebet tourney.

The S'n'G's might be organized better, I sure hope so. Having no br there, I really haven't played S'n'G's there, or if I did, they left no lasting impression, unlike the MTT's there, which left an indelible impression I am still trying to wash off.......

I did put that as being a plus! Ditto on this for Bodog as well btw.

Interesting debate, alot of people with strong opinions!

The main reason I was asking was to get the opinions of people who actually have some experience playing at these sites. To me I'm looking for the following in no particular order:

1) A good setup/blind structure. To me this means a good range of buy-ins, no excessive house fees (10% max), and at least 10 minutes blind levels (longer is better). I also would slightly prefer 10 man tables to 9 but this isn't a strong preference.

2) A good amount of traffic (don't want to be sitting around for 10-15 minutes waiting on a table to start)

3) Good site promotions/bonuses.

4) Works easily with pokertracker.

5) Good software/interface for the site along with decent customer support.

6) What is the typical competition like?

Many of these things I can just look up, but to really evaluate a site well you need to try it out so that was the point. Trying to mine the knowledge base that's out there on these boards!

Thanks for the replies so far.

if you want to play the $1 level then do NOT play full tilt except their tournaments have no rake so that is fine. its just the SNG's that screw you over with a 25% rake

but all the scheduled tournaments have no entry fees
