PokerStars FPP
I am new to the game, and I have a question that I am stumped about. I have searched and searched:
How do I win more FPP on pokerstars? I have been playing quite significantly and have only made 39 FPP. I need 250 to get my 25 dollar bonus. Is there a secret to it? I win a good amount of hands, but have no idea how to actually get them on purpose. |

All about Stars FPP's Maybe SNGs would build them faster for you, they did for me.

Most likely you're playing at lower stakes. The criteria for you to earn an FPP in any given hand is for the pot to reach $8. You don't have to be in the hand or win any hand, you simply have to have been dealt a hand, so how much you win or see flops is irrelevant. You just to have been dealt cards and the pot has to reach $8 for you to get 1 FPP. This is pretty much impossible below 10c/25c and even there it'll take awhile.

Yeah for a sit and go you get 5FPP for every dollar in tournament fees. In a $5 tournament the fee is the $.50 so you get 3 FPP. (5x.5=2.5, rounded up to 3)
It's all explained in the link K_Kahne posted but it's a lot easier to make FPP in low stake sit and goes than it is in cash games. |

Actually at micro tables the pot only needs to be $1 to get one FPP. Then you get more once it reaches $4 or something like that... not really sure what is the value for the increments.
I know I get around 30-50 FPP / hour playing $.10/$.25 Erm, values are wrong... it is all on the site ![]() First FPP: $0.40 for NL/PL poker games with blinds $1/$2 and lower Second FPP: $3.00 for all other tables Third FPP is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches $5.00. |

I get them fast at PokerStars as well. I know that their clearance rate is alot better than some of the other sites. I average about 100-200 FPP a day, if I play alot.
Edit: I got 304 Base FPP in 3 days... |

I have barely earned any FPPs and Ive played quite a bit. Do you earn more playin ring games or tourneys? I usually play sit and gos and I do not earn them fast that way. Doesnt really matter much right now anyway though. I am next to broke anyway.

I've been playing there for 3 months, mostly $10NL with some $25NL and the occasional tournament or SnG and I haven't made it to 500 yet.
That's why I haven't bothered with their reload, even if I stuck in $100 to get the $20 bonus, it would take 400 FPP to clear it. According to Poker Tracker I've played 4300 hands in ring games in that period. |

Yup... good clarification Zachvac!
Pot $8.00+ = 1 FPP Pot $60.00+ = 2 FPP Pot $100.00+ = 3 FPP For some reason, I thought you actually had to put some money into the $8+ pot to earn an FPP, but you're saying you simply have to be at the table? If this is the case, I may need to start playing more ring games. I'm pretty comfortable at the .25/.50 level (Omaha-8 & NLHE) and while it's doubtful that any pots of $60+ would happen there, I think $8+ is somewhat frequent. Thing is, I'm really liking the PokerStars BOP leaderboard thing for SnG's right now. Guess I'll see if I can actually get on that leaderboard in the next week or two and then make a decision as to which one to play. For me, I can't really do both if I want to make the high orbit board for BOP. I'm playing mostly Omaha-8 and can only manage 4 tables at a time, so I'm pretty much playing all Mars-level SnG's right now. |

Good point... I think some people over-value FPP's. The real key is to make a profit WHILE accumulating a reasonable amount of FPP's. I may have posted this before, but at the base level Bronze on PokerStars, each FPP is worth roughly 1.1 to 1.2 cents in real money equivalent. I calculated this based on the real world cost of a cross-section of items in PS's FPP store. If you happen to be at the Silver, Gold, or higher level, obviously this value increases by their associated factors, but we're still talking a few pennies per FPP. I only state this as a warning to knew players because I lost a lot of money early on puting my emphasis on accumulating FPP's instead of concentrating on the playing at the levels/areas I could win consistently at. Right now I'm playing a lot of $3 level SnG's and doing well, but I only get 2 FPP per tournament so that count isn't rising very fast. Still though, it's much more profitable for me this way than putting too much emphasis on FPP accumulation. Granted, if my SnG success hits a rut, I will switch back over the ring games, but this time at a more reasonable level for me... most likely .25/.50.

To tell you the truth I wouldnt worry with FPP, sometimes you might risk to much of your br trying to get them and that might be a mistake. I would just stick to playing games that properly rolled for and not worry about points for now

It just does not show fraction of a FPP point. It will show, when the fractions add up to a whole point. Anyone who only plays 1c/2c knows there is rarely any $8 pot at this level, but they do earn FPP points. |
