POKERSTARS CHAT ABUSE

Got some stupid email today from pokerstars about how they might block my chat coz aparently I was rude to this guy. bearing in mind he said "I want to F**k your mother" and they said they reviwed the chat and said i was abusive lol. Any one else had this stupid message from the idiot pokerstars support?

They ban your chat for cursing. Just close the chat window if you can't control yourself or you'll be banned a lot. The first ban is like 4 hours but the second is 24 hours. Eventually you probably lose chat completely.

The other guy probably got the same email. Like light said, if you can't control yourself or ignore the idiots, turn your chat off.

You almost definitley both got the same email, this is a great example of what the 'Block Chat' function was designed for

Best thing to do is not respond to verbal abuse. If it happens call a mod on the spot. If your playing to poker to either make money or just have fun, how will swearing back at someone help you game? It takes a stronger person not to retaliate than it does to throw abuse.

If someone is trying to instigate you, you don't need to respond! Just push everything those idiots say out your head and concentrate on playing.

Just be careful what you say. I've had all my FT accounts banned because I'm an idiot!

Technically you're getting off lucky. Here's what you agreed to when signing up for the site:

"The User is prohibited from posting any unlawful, obscene, libelous, defamatory, threatening, or other material that would violate any law or generally be considered to be offensive, via the Service using the chat option, the player images option or in correspondence with PokerStars' staff."

"Without prejudice to any other rights, if a User breaches in whole or in part any provision contained herein, PokerStars reserves the right to take such action as it sees fit, including terminating this Agreement, immediately blocking access to the Service to such User, terminating such User's account with PokerStars, seizing all monies held in the relevant PokerStars account and/or taking legal action against such User."

Meaning that technically by making that unarguably obscene and offensive comment, you have breached the agreement and they have the right to seize your funds. Most likely you'll just receive a chat ban though.

if someone abuses you in chat, a)report it, b)dont rise to it, and c)be overly-friendly and try to put them on tilt, works for me

My friend was watching Mike Matusow play on full tilt one day and asked him "hey mike, would you bang tilly?" and got his chat banned for a month.

I had also received a warning about a year back.
I had been drinking, was on a bad run(through no fault of my own) and started spewing verbal diarrhea before leaving every table.
Anyways, I replied to the e-mail with an apology and that was the last of that.
As for dealing with verbal abuse, I just let it roll off my back and use it to my advantage, because the players who spew are generally poor players and I like to exploit that.

Lol you dont get emails saying you might be getting your chat blocked, they just do it and tell you afterwards

hahah, I was watching Jon Turner "PEARLJAMMER" playing an MTT on FT and this guy was saying how he was a ginger looser and how His GF uses him for money as is ugly and stuff, and it happened all through the MTT and PEARLJAMMER was responding and was saying how hurt he was by the things this guy was saying lol. He didnt get his chat banned all through the tourney LOL

This is the email.

"We have received a complaint regarding some things you said in chat
at our tables. I have reviewed the chat log and did find some of your
comments to be inappropriate.

Our goal at PokerStars is to be a fun place to play, where everyone
can feel comfortable. Foul language and abuse of other players takes
away from everyone's enjoyment, and therefore cannot be permitted.

We must ask you to refrain from using this type of language in the
future, or we will be forced to remove your chat privileges.

Please note that you may not be the only one receiving a message such
as this. When we receive a chat complaint, we review the entire chat
of all players at the table. Any other offenders at the table were
also warned or revoked as appropriate to our policies."

Like I said, that email did not say that you might be getting it blocked, it was just a warning

I had my chat at UB blocked before, I didn't receive a warning, but I know that myself and another player, were going back and forth...I completely understand why they did it, and it was my fault even though I was just retaliating. Now I even listen to the people that try and get others all worked up!

I was curious about that one too.

Wow that's harsh I use to cuss the mess out of idiots, and was just down right awful, and never once did they even send me an email, or anything, Now I just competely ignore them and keep in mind the reason I play poker, and that is to keep the idiots/donks happy, and not upset them as stick once stated because there ur food supply, so with this said I suggest u ease up of've the cussing the morons and donks

That is the worst excuse u can use in your lifetime. Use it sparingly. There is no lol here.
