PokerStars 5 millionth player

Just read this in an email

PokerStars 5 Millionth Player

On March 26, George Draper of Las Vegas, Nevada did what 4,999,999 other poker players have already done...he created a PokerStars account. Draper, now known as Mr5Million, became the five millionth player to register at PokerStars.

To commemorate this milestone, PokerStars presented Mr5Million with a poker player's dream prize: a World Series of Poker main event prize package and an entry into the main event of the fourth annual World Championship of Online Poker. The World Championship of Online Poker is the world's largest online poker tournament, with an estimated prize pool of $5 million (WCOOP event schedule will be anounced soon on PokerStars.com).

the bugger is probably just another micro game player, and now has a chance at playing in the WSOP...

So Mr Draper (fromm Las Vegas) wins a prize package to the WSOP (in Las Vegas) presumably including flights from where he lives (Las Vegas) to Las Vegas. Handy for pokerstars that!

Lol, bet he was the 5,000,001st player to join, the 5 millionth being an old lady living in a secluded place on a remote island to the North of Australia, and PokerStars thought, ' nah, that's just too much hassle to fly her over!'

Don't mean to rain on your parade of cynicism, but the way they do it is simply to buy you the $10k entrance fee and give you $2500 for "expenses" (i.e. flights and hotel). So presumably they pay as much to him as they would anyone else, except that he doesn't have to spend it.
