Poker Trivia Part 9

I got a short one this week. As usual, the answers will be posted on Monday. They are kind of easy so it shouldn't take long for someone to answer these correctly.

1) True or False? According to poker etiquette, if you show your cards to one player after you fold a hand, you don't have to show your cards to everyone else at the table.

2) Define these terms:

a) Carpet Joint

b) Case

1) You must if asked
2) I don't know
3) The last unaccounted for card of a rank. Example: Your hand is 2J the board is 2JKJ. What are the chances that your opponent has the CASE Jack?

That's a Jack then - I dont understand the answer.

And question 1, if you show one player, you've got to show the others right?

Got in too late. Had the etiquette one and the last available one easy enough, but I haven't heard the term carpet joint in a long time. It is the opposite of a sawdust joint, which either couldn't afford carpet, or it was too rough of a poker room, and they didn't want the carpet to get ruined.

Yes. Yhere is a saying we use at my weekly tournament. "Show one, show all."

Wrong.
The answer to this is True.
"Show one, Show all" is only for a hand in play, or a showdown.
The misconception of "show one, show all" has filtered down into Casinos and home games and is thus changing the meaning of the phrase with every poor ruling given.

It's still good etiquette to show all players after you fold if you show it to one player.

I think it's better described as the 4th available card of any rank. I.E.- if there are three tens showing in stud and you need one to fill a straight and catch it as your last down card, you caught the case ten.
