Poker trackers
I was browsing thru Cnet and they have 3 poker trackers listed there. Does anyone have any feedback on them?
They are poker office which promises to track all relevant info on your hands; Poker sherlock which tracks the players your against (might be good in tourney play); and Hold em spy which sounds like the most interesting. It tracks all your info, and HS takes everything in consideration--like pot odds, number of players, position, betting patterns, opponents' style. HS also shows you the odds of hitting a particular hand--like a straight or flush. It says it will basically tell you if its a good bet. Any info about these? Or any others out there that might be better? |

Does anyone think this is a slight form of cheating? I'm all for poker calculators to which you can use to analyse hands afterwards and find what hands give certain % but i personally think having a computer tell you what to bet isn't the point of the game..hold em is about skill and strategy not having a computer decide for you. I can see how beginners may find it useful but thats about all

I have used a calculator myself and agree that they do ALL the odds calculating you need. I wouldn't consider it cheating because there is way more to poker than just playing the odds... I would see the program as a reference to whether i should chase that straight or not. I thought about not using one, but why not if others are already using them... I wouldn't mind them being banned from play, but that won't happen. If you can't beat em, join em. (although, I'd like to think I can beat em without it)
"Rome wasn't built overnight and neither will your bankroll...patience and more patience is needed." <-- the key... |

Pokertracker has a 1000 hand free trial version. It is worth every cent of the $50 it costs to register. Not only does it track your hands but the hands of everyone you play against so that when you play them next time you will be able to check out their betting patterns prior to entering the game.
I have only logged approx 6000 hands since I got it and already I'm picking up on weak spots and leaks in my game. |

Hey!
I use pokeroffice. I use it mainly for its really slick overlay, which tells me a number of things. The most important for me is the information on what a player has done so far this hand; I.e. checked, checked call, raised etc. This way i can keep track of all opponents betting even though I'm multitabling. The other features I really like are: 1. real time gathering and display of hands and player stats. You never have to import hand histories! 2.It gives you pot odds real time. 3. It gives you REAL outs real time. 4.Incredibly detailed info on your game history I've tried PT as well which is good for analysing your own game, but I think pokeroffice is stronger during play. I think PO cost like $69 but I got my copy for free when I signed up with empire poker through the pokeroffice website. |
