Poker Stars WSOP satellites

so I tried my hand at one of these $2 MTT satellites this evening.
this crap is equivelant to playing the lottery.
the blinds go up every 5 mins, the only way to keep up is if you're lucky enough to catch hands often or ballsy enough to steal often and not have it backfire.
guess you get what you pay for, i won't be playing again.

In my oppinion you are a big dog playin the 2 dolar mtt because you have to go threw 3 torunies and win them to actualy win a aseat in the wsop the best chance you have is playing the 160 ollar double shootout torunies. But the comp there is pretty stif and all pros play in them. So probably you would need to get luky to win one of those.

The best strategy it seems to me is to play in a one table sit-n-go that feeds into a larger buy in tournament that awards seats. Playing in a 27, 42, or 86 dollar sit-n-go that feeds into one of the 650 dollar tournaments is a good bet for your moeny. THe 2+R are insane and complete luck. I would advise against the double shootouts unless you are a GREAT player. 1/81 players going to the WSOP is not very good odds unless you are a great player. They are way too risky with longshot odds of winning.

dont ever play turbo format tourneys! those are all crapshoots and understandably so-ppl are racing to accumulate chips before theyre blinded/anted off to death.
stars does have the best WSOP sat structure (well, IMHO tied for the best with paradise). 2-tier: $3 rebuy/addon non-turbo; then the big weekly $650 qualifier.
paradise also has a great 2-tier structure: $2/$5 rebuy/addon non-turbo; then 3-times weekly $200 qualifier.
