Poker Software Question

First off I would like to say hello to the cardschat community. This is my first post and I need some advice. Let me start by giving a brief background of my poker career.

I started playing poker about 4 years ago and my game of choice is no limit hold 'em. I used to lose money like most people starting out and eventually graduated to a break-even player. I hovered at this level for a while and even took a couple 4-5 month breaks from poker. Recently I have committed myself to my game and have become a slight winning player. There have been two or three occassions where I have gone to casinos and made $400-$500 playing 1/2 no limit hold 'em cash games. I would consider myself a moderate player.

I have decided to only play sit n go's and would like to try and make steady money doing so. I am beginning to read up on how to accomplish this and have run into ICM among other software tools that seem very necessary to take my game to a consistent winning level. My question to you all is what software or combination of software do you recommend for a player like myself who is a good but not great poker player?? I was considering a combination of Tournament Shark and Sit N Go Wiz to improve my bubble play. Do these sound good? I appreciate any input and suggestions.

Sit n go wizz is supposed to be the best for SNGs. Also a tracking software that tracks tourneys is a good thing to have although a spreadsheet is just as usefull for working out ICM and such + its cheaper.

I'd recommend Sit'N'Go Wizard and Collin Moshman's book "Sit'N'Go Strategy" (available from Amazon and 2+2 Publishing among other places). Those two products along with some serious studying is more than enough to turn anyone in to a winning SnG player at the lower levels, imo.

No need for that crap. Online poker has become Bingo Lotto whatever you want to call it and those seem pointless to me. Since i can do my own outs and see with my own eyes whats going on at my table i don't see a need for any program to dictate my actions. Try using them in a casino, exactly. So get dependent on them,think that your game is way better now, and watch your money go whenever your playing live, hell watch it go online for that matter. As far as i can tell no program can *predict* what the player to your left is going to do, yet if you pay attention 95% of the time you the human can. If you think players pay attention then explain why you see so many fold to a sitout in a tourny when a simple raise takes the pot? Right his program told him to fold, thats a good explanation to cover for there stupidity. To me those who need them should take up golf or something that requires little or no brains to play, if they think there good poker players there wrong, there programs are the real players. Dependency on anything is as the anti-Martha Stewart would say "And thats A bad thing ". Peace

Obviously you have no idea what you're talking about, nor have you ever used ICM calculation software.

arathon, would you guide us through how you make an ICM calculation with no software, that means you cant use a calculator.

He'd be lucky to spell ICM. Just completely random drivel.
