Poker Promotions - Help Needed

Hi, I currently work for a well know poker room and I am currently trying to think of some new promotions. These can range from new player bonuses to VIP bonuses I am basically after anything!

So I want to pick your brains. What’s the best poker promotion have seen? What did you like about it?

What would you like for a promotion in the future?

Triple loyalty points day? Chance to win double your rake back for the year?

I am after any ideas you may have and hopefully they will make there way to a poker room in the near future.

Feel free to email me or post back on here.

Thanks for you help people!

So events where the poker room adds money to the prize fund to make it more attractive at lower buy-in tournaments?

Yes, these are nice. "Triple loyalty points" sounds good too.

i've seen some 100% match bonus up to certain amount of money which seems nice, however they do not give it to the players until they have played X amount of raked hands and that X is usually pretty high number which i though was kinda lame.

Yes I’ve often thought the raked hands are too high before you get your 100% match up, the idea is to stop bonus abusers just taking the money and running. Any idea what would be a good generous opening offer for genuine players what wouldn’t be abused?

hey bram , how exactly does bonus abuse work ? take the money and run ? I think the only bonus I ever really got was from pacific and they gave it instantly, but you couldn't cash it or your first deposit out until you played a certain number of hands.

I started my online play as a total bonus whore , where ever I could get the best bonus , thats where I deposited my $50 bucks ,I soon realized that I could not ever make my $50 dollars last long enough to collect it.

I wrote every poker site I played on and told them how stupid I thought they were ,and told them that all they cared about was the big money players , not the regular guy who puts $50 bucks on and plays for fun.
lol , anyway I gave them hell regularly.

I still believe the bonus offers are completely ludicrous , 99.99% of people depositing are complete fish . it's absolutely ridiculous to think they could play the amount of hands required. do some research or something and find out the average number of hands a normal person can play ,with $50.

OK OK I'm taking my bitterness out on you, sorry , touchy subject for me.

love the t-shirts and stuff idea also , people love that stuff and it's great advertising. maybe you can give them one of them as a bonus for first deposit or work it in somehow . I also wrote the pokersites cussing them about the very high prices or points of their shirts and caps , lol , I never understood ANYONE selling their stuff with their name on it for high prices.

It's free advertising !! you can't beat that ,make them affordable.
ok I'm done , lol .

It’s not the average player who bonuses abuse and get away with it, back before I got into the industry I did the same, and yes it was nearly impossible to get the bonus.

You wouldn’t believe thou how much people do to earn the bonus and run, the problem lies with countries like poor parts of china for example, and they have syndicates of people working 24hrs all on the same table to create the raked hands but only lose a small amount of money in rake so that the bonuses are paid out. They will put in the effort as the amount they earn in bonus is worth a lot more over there.

I feel on a hole the industry puts too much into getting new players and looking after the VIP poker players, what’s the point spending so much money getting new players and not looking after your regular existing ones.

If anyone has any ideas of what they would like to see in the form of promotions let me know, this is your opportunity to get heard!
