| Poker pre flop math 2 part question.. Question number 1. What is MATHEMATICALLY the most average hand vs another random hand heads up? Same question vs 2 random players hands than 3 players ect.. Up to 10 other players btw I think I heard the answer to the heads up wi is q7off...? Question number 2. Here are 2 scenarios. Scenario number 1 I'm heads up against a player I have never played with holding 2 7 off in the small blind out of position. Nobody has limped so it's battle of the blinds. There are no antes blinds are 1/2 now I'm getting 3/1 on a call so I decide to call ( btw lots of strategies vary to this one I like to play using math alot since in most cases I don't see why not). Btw I also have a rule that I will pretty much bet any flop since my opponent will tend to miss and than is they call I will again examine the board texture and possible tells I think I may have Iced up on to proceed in the hand , in other words I'm going to win more than 25% of the time ipby limping against a random opponent... Scenario 2 I have 2 7 off in the small blind however 4 random opponents limped in the pot. Now even though I'm getting 11/1 on a call am I right in saying I'm going to dominated here alot more often ?.. Plus it's wayyyy harder to bluff 4 opponents ( actually i don't think I've ever bluffed 4 opponents, well maybe a few times but they were specific scenarios which was rare)... In other words should i fold the 2 7 here and play it heads up? |

| re: Poker pre flop math 2 part question.. Heads up against a random opponent without any other info, I fold 27 and similar trash and just go to the next hand where I'll have position without losing much. The negative potential (i.e. reverse implied odds) is just too great. If I have any experience with the bb, I let that dictate my decision to play... and it makes almost no difference what I have. I certainly fold my hand if my opponent likes to float many flops in position. If I'm in a B&M game, I will almost always offer my opponent to chop when it's folded to my small blind before I look. I do this far less in short-handed games than full ring games, but that's mostly because the situation happens far fewer times in full ring... and it's a good way to make friends with the guy on your left, if he goes for it. I never pass up that opportunity. |

Heads up vs a random hand, there are a number of hands that give you just a tick above 50% equity, for example Q5o is 50.120% I don't know which exact hand gets closest to 50% Q7o is call the Computer Hand as that is considered the 50% hand as there are an equal number of better hand combos and worse hand combos. |
