poker ever ruined your life

just wondered if anyone here has had their life ruined through poker losing alot of money.

maybe at one time in your life or if your addicted to it and you lose more than you win?

I know a friend who lost his car and used to lose his weekly wage and he had a family to support at the same time! hes doing fine now but he went through a bad streak! aslo most places Ive worked have banned card games due to employees gambling and losing their wage

back in the day I lost my whole paycheck in a fri night poker game a few times ,with 3 kids to support. didn't ruin my life but sure made it hell. an addiction to ANYTHING is bad ,no matter what it is.

Well I've played poker countless times when I should have been studying for a test. One night I decided to play poker until 4am and just sleep through math class the next day. Although that class is a joke so it didn't exactly ruin my life. No money problems though, I figure I should never sit down with more than I can afford to lose. Not only do you risk losing it, but if you have more than you can afford to lose, you could play in a different way (assumed to be worse) because you're afraid to lose your money.

I never have much of a problem as I keep my poker money seperate to my real money - therefor if I lose it all my real life is not effected at all.

eh it could ruin my life i guess...jus like above, poker is hell of alot more exciting and interesting than studying, i havent skipped class for it, but i have cut out alot of studying for it haha, i just keep playing everyday, so i may be addicted....i wish i was addicted to learning, make school alot easier! o well

no, because i play poker in moderation. never play with more then you can afford. thats the reason that all online sites have this thing you can click and use called "responsible gambling".

No I used to put money online, but thats mostly in the past, but a woman I had worked with a few years back gambled till she was in the process of losing her house and commited suicide. She left behind a husband and 2 children. A cautionary tale to say the least.

Never had a problem with the money side of things but I can get to the point where apart from work and gym every other other hour of the day is potential poker time.

My life fits around my poker play , you know your addicted when you get up at 5am to fit in a session before work, or where you avoid a social life because he might eat into precious playing time

well i wouldnt consider my self addicted to the game just something i am very passionate about..poker has so many excitment factors to it...........i have lost money that i couldnt afford to loose but nothing life changing

I think it's the Player ruins his life by playing bad pokers.
If there is no Poker, he will ruin his life on something else, hehehe.
